    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Someone in NC just listed a clean original 71 GS grill, up to $500.
Wow, seems they are appearing now since the NOS is over $2k.

Is this the "Picasso" of grills. Don't you dare put this on a car. First, after you purchase it , call Lyodds of London and get that Damn thing insured !!!! Next , build a new garage , with climate control , put it in an alarmed glass case, hire a 24 hr. security guard with weapon and marshal arts certification ,THEN and only THEN , invite your closest and most trusted "Buick" buddies over for a champagne unvailing.

Now you can rest assured that your Future , and your childrens Future are secure.

Best of luck to the new owner. Don't forget to " DO THE RIGHT THING " with that piece of "ART" :bglasses: :bglasses: :bglasses:

P.S. In my "WILL" I'm going to instruct my kids to dismantle my STAGE 1 and sell it piece by piece...............should bring in a couple of "MILL" by then!!!!!!!!!!!!

No spares, okay. Only bid if you're going to slap it on the car. Lets see what a slap it on the car price is.

No Picasso. More like Humpty Dumpty.

If someone put their mind to it they could probably figure out a much more appealing custom grille for a 71GS.

Where are you guys with the cad software when we need you..

I hope it doesn't know that it's been sold to the highest bidder and is about to take a trip to unknown places to an unknown owner who may not take as good care for it as the last 33 years!

The grille on my rusty car was good. Plastic doesn't rust. Not me.

Incidentally, let me remind you that the whole car cost $3K including the grille, and numbers matching car with a rebuilt engine and solid 4speed drive train.

yes i agree, i sat here & ate dinner hitting refresh, and not one more bid. i was kind of suspecting that, but didnt want to say anything while the auction was running. now if the bids had gone up the way the counter did, that would have been a sight to see. andale counter shot up to over 1700 in about the last half hour, that was impressive. now lets all say a prayer to the shipping gods. ( see the thread about ups in " the bench " )

if i was the buyer, i would drive a very long distance to pick it up myself rather than trust ups or fedex.

Well that is it I am officially out of the market for a original 71 GS grille , but I will consider a repro . After that shock (mild) I saw the 71 used grille shoot up and it quickly went out of my range as I had set my high bid at 800.00 .
Well you all sound so sad that someone is getting this thing. I look at it this way it will probably go into a Stage 1 convertable and never get driven . I on the other hand will take my 71 GS with a skylark grille in it and drive it and race it and if it is presentable enough I may even show it . Anyone thats not in the know will think its original anyway .
I may even buy some more skylark grilles so when the 71 GS grilles hit 5000.00 I can get 800.00 for them .. HA!
