are you looking for show quality or just some every-dayers? i picked these up before i knew there was a difference in these wheels. i don't think they are correct for a 66, they are for disk brakes [if that matters] i offered them to smarten a while back for the price of shipping. you can have the same deal but i am sure shipping to aus. is going to be a bit much.

What size are they? Can you measure backspacing for me too please?

Can anyone confirm if they will fit my 66 Electra with the massive brake drums I have? I think these are the type that look a little like Aluminum instead of the bright Chrome of the ones in the picture I posted. Is that correct? I've never seen them up close. Are they in fact cast aluminum or chome plated steel?

I'd prefer chrome plated steel but I'm not sure that there are chrome plated steel Buick Rallye wheels that will fit my Electra. If anyone knows I'd appreciate knowing so I can start looking for a set of wheels for my Electra.

these are steel with chrome plating. they measure 4" from wheel stud hole to rim edge for back spacing [using a carpenters square across the rim as a reference].

    WHEELS

As long as they are 5 on 5 thy will fit. They did make some of the common big bolt wheels on the 4.75 pattern on late 70's Lesabres and Electras, those you have to watch. Otherwise, enjoy!!!

Is the bolt pattern 5 on 5"?

If they are, I'd be silly not to take them. Can you box one up and take it to the post office to weigh it up and get a shipping estimate. All Australian locations are the same cost and can be calculated here...

Email me at bill@buickstreet.com and "wheel" take it from there.

that is why they are not on my 67 or century, they dont fit. they are nice looking wheels and i was very disappointed that they didnt fit, especially after getting tires mounted on them and having to get them unmounted the next day. these are not particularly hard to find around here as a lot of big buicks are still around in the wrecking yards. but i ran into a guy with a 66 wildcat here who told me that there is a difference in the wheels from year to year for these cars to make them correct and he couldnt use them on his car even though they would fit. i dont see enough buick guys around here to find someone to take them off my hands and they are in my way, so if you need them enough to pay to ship them to aust. you are more than welcome. :TU:

I'm a bit confused. Are they 5 bolts on a 5 inch circle? If they are 5 on 5 then you may as well start boxing each of them up and getting ready to ship down here. Shipping quote will be to Australia (It's all one price to Australia).

    Sounds reasonable.

I haven't received an email yet. What address did you send it to?

YES, they are 5x5. sorry about the confusion, but i thought that went without saying as they don't fit my century or my '67. the bolt pattern is bigger than the 4 3/4 pattern i found i needed for the standard GM hubs. do you or anybody out there know why buick used the bigger bolt pattern wheels on the full sized cars? i believe these wheels also fit full sized chevy 1/2 ton trucks made between 72 and the early 80's with the 5 bolt pattern. but i haven't seen the 5x5 bolt pattern on other GM full sized cars. just curious.bill@buickstreet.com

Sweet! I thought that was what you where getting at when you mentioned that they didn't fit your car but I wasn't sure.

Box 'em up and ship 'em out. Do you have Paypal? Ever shipped to Australia before? Pretty simple. The same as shipping within the US excpet there is one extra piece of paperwork that needs filling out called a customs declaration which requires a value (say... $25 each) and a description (Automotive wheel).

    Thanks.

By the way, I still haven't received your email. Might want to try it again.

P.S. What is your name? Add it to your signature so we know what to call you.

I'm guessing they used that pattern because the cars were heavier. Its not just the bolt pattern, I think, but the studs themselves are bigger, 1/2" as compared to 7/16" for the small bolt pattern.

    Thanks Rob.

$70 is that for air mail, or surface?

I'll take all 5 thanks. Use Newspaper balls for packing if possible from the motoring section - just for interest. I love to read the packing paper...lol

    Sold!

Sold and paid for. Check your email for confirmation of payment.

It's a bit too late to ask now but I presume that they are 15x6?

Let me know when you've sent them and how they've been sent. If it's not airmail (10 days) then tell me how much air mail is going to be and I might spring for the extra.

    Thanks Rob.
