No I had to buy the cross bar behind the seats since I needed to have it turn back a couple inches.

Was the cross bar behind the seats already bent or did you have to bend it? I just went back to the factory bucket seats, I had racing seats in it since the roll bar was installed several years ago. I would love to be able to get the seats to go back all the way again.

I did have to bend it. The kits bar was just not wide enough unless you went straight across.

No doubt. I saw no sense in putting in a roll bar if it wasn't gonna pass tech. I went as far as calling and talking to an NHRA tech about such things as the amount I could bend the rear bars to go through the speaker holes.

Do you have access to a chassis shop nearby? We all fab & weld stuff, but it might not be a bad idea to have them do it.All of the kits require modifications or additional pieces.
You also want to make sure your headliner is nice, unless you are not going to have one.Once the cage is installed, and if it is tucked up there real nice, you won't get a headliner in,if you had to change it.

I did a roll cage in a '70 Skylark a few years back. Started out with a Jegs kit. I felt that the main hoop legs trailed inboard a little too much for my liking. Had to weld one side in and really pull on it to get it close to where I wanted it. I did use the halo bar from the kit, but ended up bending my own bars for the rear, very much like 'Wildcat4' did in his pictures. Had initially used the straight seat back bar in the kit and then the customer wanted the option to put in factory seats instead of the race buckets, so I cut it out and bent one again very much like Wildcat4 did in his pic. I also custom bent the A-pillar bars for a very tight neat look. I like the Applied Racing Tech swing out kit the best. I also custom bent those bars and put a slight dog leg in them to go around the factory door panel and armrest. I now just custom bend everything for a much better fit.
