I currently have the stock 14x7s. Last year I took it to the Good-guys autocross. the tires lets say weren't real happy. You can still see the roll over marks. I had found a set of 225/50-15 v rated Falkens. but cannot find them now.

These would look bad a** on my wagon. What are the prices and where can I get them?

They are called the Torque by Vision wheels. Summit sells them under the name Torque 143 for about $150. You can google them and find them from other online vendors as well Discount Tires carries the line but they are special order. I am trying to get them through Discount Tire, but they are checking on availability.

Well the wheels and tires are on the way. I had to get the wheels online since Discount Couldn't get them after all (or so their distributor said). I am not going to lie it was a little frustrating working with them, but in the end I got a good price and free shipping on the wheels online, and Discount cut me a pretty good deal on the tires. Can't complain too much!

I too had to make the big decision on the backspacing for my lowered ride with 4 wheel disc brakes, i read alot of posts here and thought i had it all figured untill i realized that most people giving successful rim/backspacing choices never really talked about what brake setups they had although most had stock disc/drum setups. You have to remember to take into account your brake and ride height setup, 4 wheel discs will change the backspacing requirements as the wheels can be stepped out some requiring more backspacing. i bought a offset tool from summit for about $40.00 bucks measured 20 times and ordered up my rims. Being in Canada i knew if i screwed up i'd prob be stuck with rims that wouldnt fit and that would be hard to hide from the wife...so i errored on the side of caution and ordered more backspacing on the front than i needed (which unfortunatly didnt give me much rim lip :( ...but shimmed the wheel out with 1/2" spacer once i realized i had lots of room for my 255=40=18 fronts. As we all know the front is really critical cause they just dont go up and down like the backs. Good luck with your setup. Gord

Crud! They are out of those vision wheels!!! I guess they are on back order everywhere, so they are probably on their way out.... time for plan B. I really don't want to settle, but I might have to due to costs. Nice wheels are not cheap! I just don't think I can find a mesh type wheel for the price point I am interested in, unless I go with something that requires adapters or spacers. I am thinking something like the Boss 338 or US Mags Bandit.

Can you get custom offsets with the boss?
I ended up with 18" US MAGS, and these are what I got.
if memory serves me you will need longer wheel studs to get through the aluminum rims.
Discount wheel wanted almost $500 a rim so I shopped around and got quotes for ~$250 a rim so Discount matched it:puzzled:

I pulled the trigger on Coy's C-67s. 18x8 4.85 bs and 18x9 5.5 bs. Little positive offset but nothing a small spacer cant fix if required. I don't think my studs are an issue as is. Did yours cause problems? I like those US Mags you have, but ultimately I wanted something off the beaten path. The boss dont come in custom offset as far as I know. The 338 Boss I was looking at were near zero offset. I dont think you really need much in terms of high custom offset unless you are really running something radical.

they look great, i see you have aluminum rims already so like you said the wheel studs wont be a problem and should fit like a charm. let us know how they turn out.

Still waiting on the wheels. Looks like Coys drills the bolt holes upon ordering. I asked the owner about the studs and he has not had an issue with any of his installs. He suggested ET lug nuts if it is an issue.

The wheels are here! They look great, but the casting is a little rough around the edges. One wheel has a few blemishes near the lip, but it is not worth the hassle of a send back. I can probably polish it out. I test fit the fronts and rears. They appear to fit without issue so far (tires not mounted yet). The back is a little closer to the frame that I thought, so hopefully the tires don't balloon much. There was enough thread on the studs for the nut without a spacer, but definitely not enough with a spacer in needed. Tomorrow I will get the meats mounted and balanced, then start testing for fit! Pics to follow.

I got everything all mounted up. I had to buy new lugnuts since my old ones were shot and Coys sent me a metric set. Grrrrr. Anyways, the biggest issue I can see right now is the clearance between the rear tires and the exhaust. I didn't expect that at all! The left is about a .5" away, but the right is very close, as you can see in the picture. Looks like I will have to do some adjusting. The exhaust system is a Torque Tech 3". Anyone else have issues like that?

Anyways, the wheels and tires look great! Can't wait to get the exhaust figured out so I can take her for a spin!

Update: There was way more adjustability in my exhaust than I thought. Shouldn't be an issue anymore. Test drive tomorrow!

Really enjoy following this thread as new tires, possibly wheels will be in our future in 2015. Next time you take a photo, can you please add one where you are 10-20ft behind the car. Would like to see what the car looks like from the back.

Great information! Thank you and Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas to you too!

At full lock, things are close up front. My car is also really low. They rub on the back of the inner fender at full lock in reverse. But, my old tires rubbed at full lock in fwd and reverse.

I really like the new look, and it drives very nice. It feels planted, whereas the old 60 aspect tires were very bouncy and flexy. I was very hesitant about committing to 18s, but now that they are on, I am so glad I went that direction. The Coy's C-67s were also a gamble, but they look right at home on Elanor the Mustang or a GS. I wish they had more lip like those Vision wheels that I couldn't get, but they are the next best thing in this price bracket.

    Thanks for all the help!

And just to review here are the final specs:

    Wheels: Coy's C-67 18x8 4.75 bs / 18x9 5.5 bs

    Tires: BFG Sport Comp 2, 255/40/18 , 275/40/18

Looks great, glad you are happy with the 18's and your wheel choice. I may have to look into those for the Apollo.

Hi Ryall, what A-Arms are you using and what are your alignment specs? The rubbing may not necessarily be caused by the tires. In post 35 your front wheel looks set back a few inches in the wheel opening which combined with the scrub radius may be mostly what's causing the rubbing at full lock. The larger than factory wheels are a factor of course but you may be able to run them with out any rubbing by moving the lower ball joint forward a bit. You could also move the upper ball joint forward but that would sacrifice caster. (I assume you are building a car that can corner and want to keep as much caster as possible.) Just a thought :)
