Had 71 GS that was featured in Car Craft and sold to another board member and am now in the middle of my twin turbo build. 455 with Stage 2 TE ported by Gessler, TA intake, 2 66mm turbos, Rossler Terminator 4 tranny, Moser 9" rear end, etc. Here are some pics.
yep. One intercooler for each turbo. Should all be done over the next two weeks. Waiting for the brakes from Wilwood as well.
Do you plan on running power steering? I wish someone would come up with a tt solution for cars that use A/C and power steering. Has anyone ever though to mount the turbos right where the stock manifolds exit like the APS kits?
David, Can you post some specs for your engine build? I'm currently collecting parts to build an injected tt 455 for my next project. Looks great BTW. Thanks,
two 3 inch downpipes. Build will be 455 .10 over most likely or stock bore if possible, studded with JE pistons, 8 3/4 to 1. Cam to be suggested by Nelson Racing Engines most likely or Duttweiler. Stage 2 TE max effort port work on that and sp2 by Gessler, T & D rockers. CSU carb, Rossler Terminator 4 Turbo 400 with brake. Moser 9 inch rear end. Inland Empire Driveshaft. MSD 7531, Wilwood brakes all around. Electrical evac system for valvecovers. 2 Bell intercoolers. 2 Garrett 66.5mm turbos with 81 exducer. Tial 38 mm wastegates and Tial 60 mm blow off valve, etc.
Very cool stuff. Is it a street/strip or pure race car? If youre talking to nelson racing, i bet he'll have more to say about your fuel delivery than your cam . Ill be watching this one.
Did you build the headers? Looks good. We would like some information on the header build if you wouldn't mind. Looking at doing some turbo stuff on Tyler's race car.
looks good, its what im gonna do when i get my block. what fuel pump you going to run. i went with a magnafuel 500 for mine some of the belt driven pumps looked good now though.
I have the Magna Fuel 500 pump with -12 line going to Magna Fuel regulator that is boost referencing. 20 gallon fuel cell. Street/strip car. Going to run on Billet Specialties wheels powder coated black, car green, ET Street Radial tire. Fab shop is making the headers/log manifolds.
I built my own bracket that uses a Sweet remote reservoir pump. If you are not running a mechanical fuel pump (not advised with boost) you can mount them low and tight to the block. If you want air you are probably better off with single turbo. Then can run stock AC location.
Dang, another 1000 hp Buick. Pretty soon they will be as common as chevvies:laugh: Good looking rear suspension setup. No poly bushings. yea
Nice setup! Are you just dumping the wastegate outlets or are they going to snake back around to the exhaust? Your driver's side manifold looks very similar to what I ended up with because of the steering shaft. Cool stuff! BIG power potential there!
