Ok, as requested, this forum has been created.

We will give it 1 week, and post a poll if we should keep it or not. Otherwise this info would have to go into the general engine section.... but is it for a race, or street 455, or a Smallblock or Nailhead???

    Good question, hence the topic.

Folks, review it, and vote if you want to keep it.

Kerry and Alan, we put you in as moderators, any questions or problems with this, let me know.

Remember folks, this is your BB, so be active in it's customization and set up!!

    Thanks,

    JW

    I think its fine.
Hey, did you guys know there is an electromotive injected, intercooled twin-turbo STRAIGHT-EIGHT Buick out of Havre, MT floating around out there? It has a 700-R4 trans too. It's a showpiece for sure, but I wonder how it runs.

I saw it in Missoula this summer at a car show, but did not get to meet the owner. Sure wish he'd show up so we could find out if he has any hair left :D

I think this would be a great way to separate the fule injecton/turbo/superchaced information and questions from the 400-455 forum. I think it's a keeper all the way! :D

I would say it's for race, street 455, Smallblock, Nailhead, straight 8, straight 6, flat head! :D

High Tech for Old Iron, I like it!

I do hope this forumsticks around.
I realize that it wont be the "most popular" one because odd-ball creations are few and far between, but it gives those "adventurous brave souls" who put the odd balls together a place to communicate and swap ideas.

I personally am planning an "oddball" myself, adapting a camaro TPI to a sbb and possibly adding dual turbos from volvo 2.5's w/innercoolers.

If it works out as planned, I'll get big block power at 1/2 the price:)

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the honor Jim!

Remember guys......it's a brave new world out there and now with this forum...........sky's the limit :D !!!

Ask on, I'll do my best to help in any way I can..........also I look forward to all of you teaching me things too, as I DO NOT know it all by a far margin!!!

I like the idea of a separate forum for this. I would like to build a 455 and wonder how it can be "modernized." I'd certainly use this forum, though my questions would tend to be more hypothetical at this point.

    Hi Guys,

Truzi......Hypothetical is good. I run different scenerios in my head constantly. Sometimes I even do this  to myself but I like to try and keep the ole noggin going!:D

I would like to try turbo charging the 350. Find a donor 87 turbo V-6 and use it for a model so to speak. Its the same basic block(strong, deep skirt block) plus 2:) I wonder how much power it would put out reliably with the same engine management as the V-6. Mounting brackets and such would bolt directly on the 350. Hmmmmmmmm :beer Mark

Mike T. [T/A performance] is thinking about producing the parts to bolt in a 350 in place of the 231 in a TR or GN.

It would require a bigger turbo [naturally], new turbo manifold, engine management, etc.

But you would be surprised just how close to a real "bolt in" it really is.

All things being equal, I'd say about a 50% power increase just from the increased CID, but you know those turbo guys, [too much power is just about right:shock: ]

If this kit does come to light, look for totally streetable 500 HP GN's out lookin for victims:laugh:
