    Hello,
I just purchased a 1968 Buick Electra 225 Custom 2-door Convertable (the same model as the first car I owned and drove)

    Gas:
Sorry to ask this, as Im sure its not a new question.

My Buick has a 455 that was put in many years ago, I have no way of knowing exactly when. Can someone guide me on what the fuel lead requirements may be?

    Thanks

Welcome fellow Michigander! Thee are plenty of members near you in brownstown. Do you know what year the engine is from? Don't sweat the leaded fuel, it is much less of a big deal than the ethanol that IS in the fuel.

    Thanks, thats great,
I purchased it from the second owner, althoug I think a relitive of the first owner a very elderly man had used it for a time. The guy I got it from said the the original owner took a 455 out and put another 455 in. I dont think that was possible, from what I can gather a 455 was not avalible for 68. Althoug I did see one site that indicagted it as on option. All in all, the information is a bit grey, no real facts to base it on. Can you tell be how to identify the motor I have?

    Thanks agian
    Mike

Maybe a 430, the 455 was not available until the 1970 model year for any Buick.
