I am located Washington state yes car bought at the Denver mecum auction in July. only other picture I have are of the castings and stamps trying to verify correctness. which the engine was not a stage1, its stamped SF, rest of car was verified to be born with, one last thing I have to verify is frame to body. engine has to be rebuilt, blew up 300 miles from Denver on way home.

you are correct. the streaming that mecum did on u-tube shows the bidders discussing the fact that the engine was not a real stage1 engine and other issues that were questionable.

RB, where in WA are you? I am in Kent. Would love to see the car in person. Do you have a good BUICK engine rebuilder?

RB, sorry to hear about the engine issue after leaving my home town. I didn't make it the Mecum this yet. There are numerous threads about building a 455 here; from mild to wild. If you can build a Ford or a diesel you can build a 455. FYI, SS vs SF engine code should have been factored in accordingly in the price of the car. Make the car run like a Stage I should and nobody will question you seriously about what engine code you have until you get the car appraised of go to a Buick show to have it judged.
