Hello, I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I have a 1966 Buick Special with a 340 and a 4 speed. I just bought a Buick 350 4bbl out of a 71' wagon from a guy and he suggested I join V8 Buick ...... so here I am. Been into cars my whole life. My current fleet stacks like this:
    1966 Buick Special
    1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass
    1978 International Scout Diesel
    2016 Scat Pack Charger
they're pretty much all beaters (except the charger)(that's my wife's car)
Anyways, my special is my current project that I'm hoping to make really reliable and build the 350 to about 350hp or put one of those twin turbo set ups on it I read about. Either way, Happy to be here. I hope to learn a lot and meet interesting people.

Welcome to v8 Buick. The buick v8s are very durable motors, and do put out impressive numbers with the right parts. There are a few companies that specialize in Buick v8s and they are the go to place for performance parts. You will find a lot of knowledgeable people on here who do just Buicks.

Welcome! Nice to have another 66 owner here!:beers2:
The GM A-body is easy to modify for better performance, and it doesn't have to cost a lot.
I think the 350 would be an easy swap. Major difference of the 350 are the cylinder heads. Flywheel will swap over, I think the mounts and accessory brackets are the same. Exhaust manifolds are different.

For improving handling and driving, a larger front sway bar, boxed rear control arms and rear sway bar, fast ratio power steering box and front disk brakes are nice upgrades. You can use junkyard parts, used originals, or new versions depending on your budget.
I have a '66 Special I did up with the above mods and a 5 speed behind the original 300. It's a fun car.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the welcome. . Awesome info too by the way! I was curious what I was going to be able to salvage from the 340 when I did the 350 swap!

I was interested in doing a turbo kit. Did you use the Mark Burton kit or did you make your own?

I like it, Will! From the pic, it looks to have a painted white top like mine.
