I took the plunge and picked up a 1972 Skylark Custom. Got it yesterday and took it out today and put some miles on it. It runs great and is clean for its age.

Nice Ride, can you elaborate on mileage and options? Congratulations on your purchase and enjoy cruising!

Thanks all for the comments! Here are a few more pictures.

It still has the original 350 engine, odometer shows 98,000 miles, but I have no idea if that is the actual miles... could be 198,000. It has factory A/C upgraded to R134a, vinyl/cloth combo interior. Interior is really clean.

It has some upgrades: 4bbl carb, dual MagnaFlow exhaust, Comp Cam, and 200-4R transmission.

It was repainted sometime in the 90s, but it is the correct code 21, crystal blue.

Welcome! I also have a ‘72 Lark. Nice color combo.

I looked at your info - also 47 yrs old! Did you seek a car the same model year as yourself? Thats what I did!!!

Hmmmmmm I could be wrong but that might have been a car I bought from the original owner in NC years ago. I sold it to Joe up in Chicago area years ago then it bounced around a bit. Not 100% sure its my old one but it sure looks like it.

Actually it just worked out that way, I was looking for anywhere from 1968 to 1972.

I found it in Dallas, the previous owner had it since 2006.

Too bad, it would have been cool to be able to get more history on the car.
