my 72 racecar as of today has a brand new home.

after years of towing with an open trailer and having to work all winter in the shop around the racecar, it finally has a house for just it and the golf cart.

after a long drive from north central ohio to the far south east corner of GA and back this weekend its here.

towed great and smooth at 70+ mph and at 28' there is a few extra feet inside the 7' height means I wont have to duct down inside:)

Good looking trailer. What brand and where did you go to get it? Tom

it's a cynergy. purchased for south east cargo in GA. great ppl to deal with, super nice, answered all my questions and were not pushy.

seems very well built, 6x2 main tubes with 2x3 floor cross beams that are 16" oc. walls are 1x1.5 tubes on the same oc, roof also used the same tubes but comes 24" oc but we upgrade to 16" PC. we add 6" height, upgraded to .030 walls over .024, add extended tongue, bogey wheels, 48" side door.

standard option included the 1 peice al roof, radial tires, led lights, dot tape, side turn signal/marker light, thermo ply roof liner, 3/4" floor with 3/8" walls, 4 d rings.

all for just over 6800, I think standard price was under 5800

will post more pics later today

I've been thinking about an enclosed trailer but the fuel mileage and maneuverability I have with the open trailer will be sorely missed.

not sure what you tow with, but our 2000 k3500 with 6.5l didn't lose too much. I dont have a true apples to apples because we went down 75 and up 77 to avoid traffic in Atlanta that was all backed up.

75 down empty with not as big as hills we got 14ish. driving not ever much over 70, but not much under 62 either.
77 with trailer going through some nice hills for sure plus, an 1.5 hr idle due to a crash in wv we got 11ish. tried to stay above 65 as the truck stayed in od.

i think if we would had gone back the same way it would had been alot closer.

I can get up to 20 running empty (not towing) with the 01 F250 7.3L 16-17 towing empty and 15 -16 with the Riv on the trailer. I know the V nose is going to be better for fuel millage than a flat nose. Often wondered why they dont make a wedge or low profile design enclosed car trailer. Or better yet one like those pop up campers where the top lowers down. something like this but longer / wider

I've seen a v nose that had the top of the v have alot of angle. not sure why it doesn't show up better but ours has a little there. your 7.3 would do better and gave more power than out 6.5. I haven't yet scaled the new trailer to see they say its 4000, but I'm sure it's more than that. my open has a 18ft tilt deck and 6 ft of flat cargo in front, it's close to 2500 if I recall.

I wouldn't think you rig would not have an issue pulling a trailer this size at all.

So we took the new trailer for a test drive with the new to us motorhome to feel things out. See how it did around country road corners and highway speeds. I had yet to drive the new motorhome so with the trailer on it first time was different. I would day I'm surprised at how well it did in country road corners.........the extra long tongue helps......motor home is 32',trailer is 32ish from ball to rear.

    No issues very smooth.

Then we did a dumbbell, we finally got the car back running, pulled it in the trailer, dad didnt strap it down, just put blocks under the tires........when I put the trailer in its parking spot and stopped.....the car rolled back slimmed the door and bent both cam locks...........shut

Call the manufacturer left a message, they reply telling me they can't sell parts at this time........wtf.......and by email b.c. ack not a phone call. I'm not asking for warranty I will pay. So I look cam bar locks up thinking both big deal......can't find any that have the same bolt spread as mine. Seem like standard is 34 .75 between outer holes and 28.25 between inner, mine are 35/28.5 respectively. Need to get ahold of one to see if there is any wiggle room on the hinges.

Can't sell parts never heard of something so stupid in my life

Man it stinks when we do stupid human tricks when we're not even trying to.

Maybe I'm way off base but I would think any trailer dealer would have some generic cam locks and bars that would work. I have a Haulmark, a Wells Cargo, and a Patriot and they all look to be the same style. Maybe different lengths...

Might have to do a little fabricating...and that blows on a new trailer.

Yeah not happy at all, neither is the owner of the dealership I bought it from.

I think I found the manufacturer of the cam lock, m as the they will help

I'd just pull the bent parts off, straighten / repair and reinstall.
