New guy saying hi from overseas Finland.
Always been a big fan of GM a-bodies, especially 70-72 chevelles and skylarks. Bought my seamist green 1970 Skylark about 1½ year ago. So yes, wet behind my ears especially in terms of buicks.
Originally 350 2 bll bench seat / column shift car, which still has its original numbers matching engine. The body is relatively straight with probably one repaint. With swapped 200th4r overdrive transmission, the car is nice and comfy cruiser.
According to the previous owner, the car was imported from the US to this country about ten years ago. Someone of the previous owners has done some upgrades like od trans, cruise control, buick / olds 71-72 10 bolt rear end, demon carburetor, headers and a thick harrison radiator probably from a full size car. Maybe this is someone's old car from the forum?

Welcome from Long Island,NY.Really nice car, upgrades are good, just don't understand why they changed the rear and put another 70 rear in it.I would have put a 71-72 rear ,its much stronger.Bruno.

Thanks Bruno. This is exactly what is done to the car. The rear has been swapped to the stronger71-72 unit.

Little update to my first post. After finding dog dish hubcaps through this forum (thanks to a member Iarkone) and waiting 3 three months for the sea freight, "the poverty look" that I was after is finally ready and complete. Pictures are taken late evening light and the car looks better in the pics than it really is.

Now, where can I find BBB to complete the go department..;) buick.jpg buick2.jpg

    Welcome!

I love the steelies and poverty caps look! Was thinking about going that route with mine, but 17 X 8" steel wheels are a lot more expensive than aluminum custom rims.

Why 17”? A steel 17” with poverty caps just wouldn’t look right IMO.

    Hey Finbuick,
A warm welcome from Germany! Sharp looking Skylark you got. I'm a fan of black vinyl tops.
How did the 15x8 work for you in the front? Any scrubbing when turning?
I am thinking about upgrading to 15x8 rallyes with 275 BFGs in the back and 15x7 with 245 in the front.. just hard to find that combo over here..

Very light scrubbing with 15x8 front wheels. I have drum brakes in the front, not sure whether that affects on track widht. Steelies that are currently on the car measure 15x7 in the front and 15x8 in the back.
