Hey folks, new to the forum. I've got an '86 Regal with a leaky 231 V6, no turbo. I've also got a Buick 350 I'm planning on putting in. I'm not asking questions right now, just getting out of my own head. The engine is out of a 69 LeSabre, but if my info is right, its a 68 block. Currently I've stalled out due to lack of funds, so I figured I'd throw out some pics and see what people think.
Welcome from Minnesota! I had a 87 that looked just like that, same color, similar wheels. It had a V8, I wish I had known more about the v6 back then (or now for that matter) Nice looking car!
Too bad you're so far away. I have a complete carbureted non-computerized turbo motor you can have for $500.
Yeah that's a bit of a drive. Sure wish I was closer to that deal. I still had to do a 16 hour round trip to get the 350. Buick's are pretty scarce around my neck of the woods. If I had time and money, I would've gotten the V6 rebuilt. I'll probably end up rebuilding it myself since I won't be down my daily driver, and can risk an unexpected problem. But I can't wait to get this swap started.
That is about the easiest engine swap ever... The v6 engine mounts work with the 350, trans bolts up, etc.
Welcome, we have a Forum dedicated to swapping Buick v-8's into the Regals, http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?forums/v-8-buick-powered-regals.41/ See the Sticky FAQ thread.
Thanks everybody. I wouldn't dare put anything else but a Buick, in a Buick. Larry, I have gone through all 20 pages. Unbelievable amount of information. When I start the swap, I'll post it in there.
