Hey guys, been browsing the forums for tricks, tips, do's and don'ts for a while, decided to join. Living in British Columbia. Own a 50 shoebox, power plant will be a 425 Nailhead.. The pics show the current state of the car and engine (the red one is a siezed 401) Just cleaned up the 425. two days ago (it's very early in the build)
When she finally gets airborne again!!! Bird has a very bad "work on to fly" ratio. At this point she is sitting at about 240:1!!! Classic homebuilt airplane with a car engine in it......90% done, 90% to go!!!
Thanks, she is a hoot to fly. There is an old saying re flying warbirds (the expensive real McCoys like Spits, P-40's and P-51's)......"They're the most fun you can have with your clothes on!!" ....if you can afford the $2000/hr operating costs. My toy Spit is a whole lot more in line op-cost wise with one of your built up street rods.
