    Hi all,
I had the exhaust done on our 66 Electra 401.
I asked them to remove the flap out of the heat gate on the passenger side.
They told me it was seized shut when they removed it. That would explain the exhaust ticking sound coming from under the inlet manifold. The whole passenger bank would have been exhausting through the heat riser.
Glad I asked them about it, thanks to you guys and all the posts on this forum, I read that they should be removed because of this issue over a long period of time sitting.
The power is doubled now. It feels great for such a big car.
Exhaust guy made new pipes from the manifolds but extended them around behind the trans then kept the single to the back, but increased it to 3". Sounds like a V8 now.
I am guessing that this issue would have contributed to my overheating issues as well.

Everyone that has seen the Electra asks, "When is the 555 going in there" LOL!!!

    Cheers
