A few Buicks: A Beaumont SD396: Plenty of racing going on: Had a great time, weather couldn't have been better, car show was huge, picked up some stuff at the swap. After 2 days wandering from one end of the strip to the other, visiting all the vendors, swap meet etc. our legs were beat and the smell of burning rubber and nitromethane permeated our clothes. Friggin Awesome.....Jim/Rott
His Maroon car ?I thought I saw everything there was to see. Guess I should have dropped some coin on the helicopter tour of the event! Sorry I mist ya Bryan. Kudos....Jim/Rott
Not the maroon car, the blue and white '68 low mile Skylark. 'Stock' appearing, down to 350 stickers on the valve covers and iron manifolds. Patrick
Sorry to have missed you Jim, my pit spot was way down past the finish line, and I was only on the track 4 times for time trials between Friday and Saturday. I was in "hot rod eliminator" a bracket class for cars running between 8.50 and 13.99, I did my best to represent Buick, the car ran great, 4 time trials between 12.18 and 12.20, my dial in was my best time trial ET. I went 6 rounds loosing in the final with my worst reaction time of the day and enough unexpected wheelspin to cause me to run .06 off my dial. My favorite part of the event was seeing peoples reaction to my car and its stock appearance. I was hoping to see more Buicks racing but I was the only one in competition with a Buick engine. NED is having another nostalgia event on sept 27th, I will be there Bryan
Well then, I will cya Sept 27th! I'm lucky enough to live about 6 miles from the track, so I can pass on the overpriced food and run home for a couple of quick burgers on the grill.
