New dummy simulates a 10-year-old

    I'm always a fan of safer cars, so this is a good idea in my book.

    No word yet on whether it will simulate pulling its sister's hair or dripping ice cream on your leather like some of the other 10 yr old dummies I have met.

    I saw the prototype for it about a year ago. Denton ATD the company that makes the dummies is located in ohio also. I do service on their CNC,s and they took me on a tour of the testing and assembly areas. You would not belive the amount of sensors that are in these dummies. The guy said each dummy has an umbilical cord that is 4" dia. that is full of wires sending signals to the computer. they have everything from rib cages to spines. He told me they are working on an on board computer system but it wont be avalable for several years. Realy cool stuff.
