What drives me nuts is when companies name there products the same as something old and its not as cool as the original, come on be original. Samsung S10 has ruined my searches for truck parts. Trying to find parts for a vintage Challenger is a nightmare since everything comes up for the new ones. Naming a electric SUV a mustang is so wrong it's up there with the mustang II.
When I sold parts, I hated Oldsmobile’s penchant for naming everything Cutlass-something. Ciera? Cruiser? Calais? Salon? Brougham? Cadillac moved ‘Fleetwood’ from the big car to the wrong wheel drive little car to its successor and back to the big car between ‘85 and ‘93; some years Brougham was a trim level, other years a whole different car that people called a Fleetwood. And Nissan sticking ‘Pathfinder’ on the Armada the first few years. How about ‘Blazer’ on the newest Chevy potato? Patrick
Hi, Just wait 5 years and S15 will totally mess up your searches. Not related but Oldsmobile is a pain as well as you have too search twice, Olds/Oldsmobile Regards,
My favourite is Audi's new E-tron...in French, the word etron means fecal matter. Reminds me of the McWrap sandwich...
What I hate is the Corvette C what ever? look at a 63split window. now that is a C-1. A 70 ZL-1 is a C-2 and so on. I just wonder went the 2020 SUX is coming out?
1953-'62 is C1, 1963-1967 is C2. My least favorite about new cars is that they don't actually use names, so it's hard to tell what is what. Cadillac CT3, CT4, XT6, Mazda CX 5, 3, CX 6, 6. What the hell happened to Calais, Devilles and Fleetwoods? Did you guys know that on new Cadillacs, they put a number on them indicating their torque in NEWTON-METERS?!?! So you can get a CT4 350, which has a 4 banger with 237 HP and 258 ft.-lbs of torque (258 ft.-lbs = 350 NM). Stupid.
^^I read that and saw one last week. (Caddy is pretty liberal with ‘rounding up’, too!) It was an SUV but I honestly don’t remember CTwhat but it said 400 on the right side. The same guy who dreamed up Infiniti’s stupid ‘cars are all Q, SUVs are all QX, and the number is its rank’ (Jacques deNiyscchhennshsh(sp?)) messed up Caddy’s names but he was fired before newtonmeters happened. Patrick
Now, you see Pat, that's where you're wrong! It was an SUV you saw, so it was an XT"something" . But at least you know how much torque it has. In Europe.
