Craig, Would you consider making one or two for me out of carbon fiber?

Paul, I've thought about carbon fiber and after speaking with my 'glass suppier, he said it could be done, but we'd have to address whether using the carbon fiber is for the looks or the weight savings. If it's looks it gets a little tricky around the scoops since I don't have all of the vacuum bagging equipment you'd need to get the carbon fiber to lay in one piece around the sharp edges of the scoops. If it was just for weight and the hood would be painted, that's another story. Either way, I'm going to try something with carbon shortly. I owe a couple of guys normal hoods right now first though. With my commute, I'm working from 3:30 in the afternoon until 6:30 the next morning right now, 6 days a week, good OT :dollar: but absolutely no life right now! Hopefully I'll be off this schedule the 2nd week of May and I can return to 4-10's! That gets me back in the garage.

The carbon hoods would be strictly for weight savings. They would be painted.

Well, since the last snow bank melted, thought it would be a good time to do the fit up. [IMG]

EmeraldMist for now. That's what the car is. All survivor. I think this next winter we will break it all down and do a Cortez Silver.
Funny thing is you realize how bad your body is when your paying attention. I am in dyer need of some nice bumpers.

My body shop guy asked if it wouldnt be easier to just get another hood from Craig instead of removing what I have from the crashed hood. I just laughed and said "start with a sawzall" It'll come off.

You're killin' me Briz :ball: But I can't say I'm very efficient at getting these things built! Work, the house, the wife and other stuff take from my garage time. Not to mention it's 105 degrees out there!

Absolutely beautiful hood. Nice craftsmanship! Do you have a running list of guys in line for these? I would like to have one also. No rush. Please let me know how long the queue is ahead of me and what the turnaround time might be. Thanks!

    HOOD UPDATE
It's been a hot and humid summer here in Phoenix, the garage has been 105 degrees plus during the day. I also had to redo the hood and spoiler on my GS. Not a structural isssue, just had to repaint the hood due to the guy that painted it a year or so ago really screwed it up getting water mist in the paint. Oh yeah, the painter was me :spank: The original gel coat on the rear spoiler started to crack and that eventually came through the paint. So that had to be stripped and re-glassed and repainted. Also had to finish a custom fiberglass rear spoiler I built for a friends 79 Olds 442. So enough excuses  It will be cooling off here soon, and if the stars align I won't have to work 6-12's during our upcoming fall refueling outage for the whole month of October, that'll give me a lot more free time in good weather. Bottom line, I will be making more hoods shortly, I apologize for delays especially if folks were holding off painting their car until they bought one of my hoods.
