Ok here we go again where is it ? i search but only found pics but not location as it needs to be repute in park to start so you know adventualy it won't start ! so want to find out how to adjust before roommate gets stuck ! its a column shift thanks
It's on top of the transmission below the master cylinder. Does the column shifter move easily or is it tight? There is a lever at the bottom of the column that transmits the lever action to the shift cable. If it's difficult to move, lubricate the ball on that lever. Also, make sure that the cable and switch are adjusted properly. I've seen the bolts that hold the switch to the trans loosen up or break.
Wow every thing on this car is never simple the lever does move freely at lease i know where to look i will have to see how to make that adjustment if visual make sense on how to do it will inspect bolts & check for cracks Thank you very much if anyone like this fwd type of car 2 dr. black 85,000 will sell in spring !
