Im trying to post a picture of my black lab .His name is BUICK, He was my garage buddy, drank more beer than v8 buick.com.I lost him to cancer about two years ago. He was eight. I miss him every day!
Joe, sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. But, if I read your post correctly, please don't give beer to your next dog.
Nice pup dave! I know what your say'n. I have to take scooby for a walk to the park(two blocks down) at noon so he doesn't get bored during the day. When I say walk or grab at the place on the counter where his leash is kept, he goes nuts knowing, what that means. but if I put it back down on the counter he sits sown immediatly because he knows what i want(I make him sit when i install/ remove the leash. He is definatly a high energy dog and is into his tennis balls. He 'd rather play catch than retrieve thou. I thought the the photo might be good for a couple of laughs:laugh:
Mine has the TP fetish also. I don't know what the excitment is but idefinatly have to close the bathroom door when I'm finished!
Scooby's list (and one up on easter chocolate) underwear (this is a biggie) socks butter wrappers yellow cake mix two dozen easter eggs(ready to go the saterday night before) stuffed items period brought in a snake one day pens/ pencils are his favorate(grab it while looking at you and run like hell) eye glasses Dale Earnhardt hat:af: small aluminum flashlite hickory firewood blinds(obviously) barbie dolls speaker wires
Nice picture! Scooby is about 80 pounds, a little less when I'm walking him consantly at noon and evening.
OK .... i got one for you all BESIDES Mocha eating ANYTHING food related she can get her paws on..... Every Sat/Sun I take her to the Beach. One spot is an estuary off of long island sound. During High tide, the inlet flows in pretty good and floods the whole area (~500 acres). The inlet is about 300' across and about 3/4 of a mile long. Fishermen like to fish it during the tide changes as Stripers live and spawn in there and come and go from the sound with the tide changes. Well.....I take Mocha there and Im playing fetch throwing a tennis ball half way across the Inlet. She Dives in swims back and retrieves the ball (Retrievers make great retrievers ) Fishermen are about 50 yards away upstream toward the mouth of the inlet. So....she dives in, swims to the tennis ball and starts back and stops dropping the tennis ball o No: She swims around in a circle a few times and Dives under the water !! Circles again....Dives again, anf comes up with a 8 POUND STRIPER in her mouth !!!! the Thing is hanging out a good foot on either side of her mouth Swims back....fish is flopping and struggling to get away, she's fighting it - all the while the fishermen are Hysterical laughing. Finally she makes it to shore and drops it at my feet and looks up at me totally excited. I yell to the fishermen, who are still hysterical...."Does my DOG win biggest catch of the day ?!?!?!?" Mocha and i had a delicious fresh fish dinner:TU: The look on my Wife's face when i brought this fish into the house was a moment i wont forget:grin: AfterStory - next few times i brought mocha there for a swim she ignored the tennis ball when i threw it and instead preferred Retrieving fish over tennis balls .... never got another one but left quite a few balls floating in there
Alan, Like David said: The key to combating excess energy in a Lab is plenty of exercise. I'm just doing my part so you and Kathy can get a little rest.p I'd post that picture I took but it's too big (1271 KB)
