This was an ebay transaction. No idea if this clown is a board member but he was buying buick parts so chances are someone here will deal with him.

Long story short he won the auction for two fenders. I made it clear that shipping was not included. I included in the description that shipping would be a minimum of 150-200 for each fender or i would gladly hold the fenders for 45 days for the buyer to pick up or arrange their own shipping. I quoted him fastenal shipping plus a crating fee. It was around 240 bucks. He then ghosted on me. He then filed a claim through his credit card to dispute the paypal transaction saying I never shipped the fenders. I didn't because he never paid the shipping invoice. Evidently he thought shipping would be 50 bucks.. Paypal gave his money back immediately and I could not appeal it since it was against a credit card company. Paypal doesn't do crap to protect the seller. PayPal would not even listen to my side.. all the proof was in emails too.

I got nailed almost 50 bucks in return fees from paypal. After numerous calls to paypal with each call including 40 plus minutes of hold time and the joys of dealing with customer service agents that are out of the US they agreed to waive the fees. All because this asshat ghosted on me and lied about it. I would have worked with him too. Thats the frustrating part.

So Deshawn Benson, dtb_84 on ebay, Dtb313@yahoo.com of the Romulus Michigan area is a low life coward that will only waste your time and cost you money.

EBay/paypal takes the buyers side too often. It is hard enough to sell anything old car related nowadays they make it even harder for honest sellers. Greyhound bus has saved more than one sale. They would likely handle a fender for around a C note. Of course the buyer expects the wrapping and packaging for free.

I don't think I'll accept paypal as payment again. Which sucks since that means I'm done with ebay.

No need for you to stop ebay altogether, but it may be wise to stop selling larger items with high shipping cost unless for local pickup only. It could have been worse if you had crated and shipped the stuff and buyer filed a claim of "item not as described"---then you might have to choose between paying return shipping or letting buyer keep the item, while refunding purchase price plus shipping either way.

IMO it's better to stick with the forums and craigslist for selling stuff like sheet metal and engines.

I'm getting to be over the whole parts scene period. It used to a way to keep decent spending money in your pocket. Now it's more of a hassle than it's worth. Every sale requires an album of pictures and a thousand texts. Half the idiots never show or offer half the asking price. It's simply not worth my effort to make a few bucks for hours of texting.

Ebay was enticing since it eliminates most of this garbage. Once my hoard is gone I'm done..
