Needs some experienced eyes on this 400

Just after the straight cut gears

 

Do all RV TH400s have those gears or is it just from certain years? Asking because I have an old 32' 1985 Georgie Boy with a BBC 454/TH400 combo in it, would that have those gears?

 

I've always been told that if it has the drum on the back it should have the straight cut planetaries

 

I know the factory 400 gear set are very strong, some of the strongest produced. The issues with gears normally are from thrust or pinion wear, lack of lube, not the gears themself. I would be more concerned with the input and main shafts way b4 the gears. I gear 1500ish Hp with them is not unheard
