Hey everyone i have a 69 buick special deluxe i dont if the deluxe makes a difference but if any one can tell me anything on my car it would be helpful. Im looking for faqs and what a post car is im not sure im only 21 and this is my first car so any cool faqs will be very much appreciated thanks in an advance Special_350
A ''post'' car is one that has a window frame around the door glass. Also it gets its name from the fact that when you roll down all the glass, you still have a ''post'' sticking up between the window holes. A ''hardtop'' has no posts with the windows down. As for details about your car... Its nik-name is the ''Stepchild'':bla: It is a cool ride, and 1,000,000 times better as a first car than a 15 year-old front-drive crap box so... Go you:beers2:
LOl thanks for the info and yeah ive always wanted a classic muscle im what most ppl would call a greaser i just havent got my 1950 merc or now that ive been loving the buicks km looking for a 50s one and when u say step-child what does that mean and does the deluxe model mean anything
Its a nik-name given to the '68-'69 Special/Skylark/GS cars. A lot of people love the '64-'67 cars and the '70-'72 cars, but are meh about the '68-'69 cars. The odd-ball styling is a little offputting to most. So they end up treated like ''stepchildren''ou: I for one dig the wilder styled Buicks like the stepchlidren and boat-tails:TU: If nothing else, its the least likely to be mistaken for a Chevelle:laugh:
Kool so what you are saying is my car is an odd ball like me and its better then the rest lol jk. Ok sounds good i can diffently see the diffrence in the 67 and 69 but everyone confusses mine with a monte carlo. So one more question would 67 and 68 parts fit on my 69 or are they to diffrent say the tail light assembly cause i kinda need one and no one has them for this car. Thanks a lot juan
'68, maybeo No: '67 no. You can post in the Parts Wanted section, or do a searchs in the Parts For Sale and Car Part-Out sections. Most anything you need can be found here. And yes, the stepchildren owners tend to be...uzzled::laugh:
RIP Juan. It was an honor to know you and call you a friend,Buick brother and to have you as part of the carhex family. Hector
