My 85 Regal with JW 470 stroker is complete, but I have no spark to the plugs. I have a simple set up, single wire Limited Lectric electronic conversion kit off a Delco coil. I'm running a wire directly off the fuse box using an add a circuit fuse link and runs through a ballast resistor on the fire wall to the coil. I understand not all sights are hot while the starter is engaged, but the sights I've used are designated as EMC: electronic control module ignition and EMC: electronic control module. I figured these sights would work for me,but I guess not. Has anyone taken their ignition power right off the box like this and if so what sight are you using ? Is there another way to do this without some complicated tearing the dash apart. I have grounded the plug wires and got no spark, did the same with the coil wire with no spark, and put a meter on the resistor while cranking the engine with no reading, last place is the power source. Hope somebody can help, this has been a 3 year venture I'd like to bring to an end so I can drive this animal. Thanks Roger On The Eighth Day God Created Buick
any wire marked IGN should work but to take all the variables out runn you coil + and the + from the ignition module right to the battery + terminal if that works that the problem lies in your ignition source if not look somewhere else. if that dosent work take a spark plug wire and put it right to the coil with a spark plug on the other end, threads touching some grounded metal, coil + to the battery + and touch the coil - to ground you should get a spark the will check your coil
