Ooops, made a mistake, the production code on the 350 is located between plugs 1 and 3. I'm so used to the 455's

Just to piggy back on a thread... I have the same question... the numbers I found are PP 2I0 on the deck.

    350-4?? 4 barrel intake?? Mine came with a 2 barrel intake # B1238643-2 and 2 sets of heads 1238145, and B1382546K. Is this a 230 or 280 HP engine?
    thanks

It was a 350-4, 280 HP engine in 1968. What it is now? We don't know. Lots of things can happen in 42 years

I'm new to these "wide" buick 350's, I just bought this off craigslist. It has been partially disassembled and has a 2 barrel intake B1238643 that was "sitting" on top of the engine and the bolts holes line up. Are there ony problems in using this intake or should I get a 4 barrel intake??

All the 350 intakes will bolt up to the engine. There may be some differences in exhaust crossover passages, and emissions device passages like EGR and A.I.R. If you want a 4bbl intake, post in parts wanted, or order an Aluminum one from www.taperformance.com

you should be able to use the 2v intake just fine. it won't be the best thing for performance though.

as Larry says, you have no idea what's been done to this engine. if the short block is still stock, you will still have the hi-compression pistons and better cam.

    otherwise, who knows?
