I have a Buick tach that I want to put in a 66 GS console? John on this board has a bezel for a console tach but I need to make sure this is a console tach? This tach doesn't have the 2 studs that are required to bolt to the console. Does any one know if this is the wrong tach or can I drill hole in the back and make it work? The face of the tach is 3 inches and 4 1/2 inches from the chrome ear to ear.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

That one looks like it could be the same as the one in my '65 Wildcat console.
I may have the one you are looking for with the mounting studs on the back.
I will have to check and see.
If I do, would you consider a trade? :Do No:

    Robert,
I would consider a trade if you have the correct one. This tach stops at 1000 rpm but I am going to send it to Bill and have him fix it. He said he could do it since he worked for A/C DELCO. Or if the back housing will interchange we could swap that only. The tach comes apart real easy.

    Ed,
I'll try and send you a picture of the one I've got.
I will have to figiure out just where in the garage I put it.

    Ed,
Here's pictures of that tach with the studs on the back.
Does this look like the right one for your console?

    Ed, that's a kneeknocker.........

It will work in the console cup but will require some careful but significant modification with a dremel. I have done two of them. Dan
