    snaperhead nefarious: I'm game, you?

I have a 65 Riv Gran Sport with the whole option package, I want to buy a cam for it, but don't know much about how to choose one for my car and the nailhead, car is driven occasionaly and I don't want to rev it too much over 5000-RPMS, I want to keep it stock appearing, but I do have a spare set of heads and intake (who does the best porting???) that I can port to breath easier, spring are a HD type that will allow .48-inch lift with a moderate lobe rate, The following are the cam choises that I was given (or they can do a custom grind):

    212-218/112-degrees

    212-224/114-degrees

    218-230/112-degrees

    224-230/111-degrees

which cam would you choose? and why? or if you can recommend a custom grind, what is the profile? and why choose it?

this should be a great thread of discussions, thanks for the help Steve

I strongly recommend you bag the idea and sell the car to me...preferably cheap! :Brow:

Secondly, If you flatly refuse, I'd say ask Jim Burek if he doesn't post here soon. Also call Carmen Faso for a second opinion if you'd like. He isn't on the web, but is listed in the sticky thread at the top of the nailhead forum. Real nice guy, and knows nailheads inside out.

I agree with Adam if you want your heads worked send them to Jim B. and let him work a little magic on them. I have a set and can't wait to get them on.
Not sure who "they" are for your cam choices and what you want from your setup but I've gone with a TA-30 -276/276 on 112. She's gonna spit fire!
Carmen is a great person to talk to for our Nailheads!

Hey Jim B, while we are on the subject, what kind of #s do you get out of your nailhead heads along with a ball-park price. I know a long time ago someone was claiming their heads made #s comparable with a stock 455 head.
