Running the FiTech Mean Street system with the Fuel Commander setup on my sons 66 Buick Wildcat. 800hp setup is way overkill but showed to be useable on 200hp-800hp motors, so i figured i'd try it out. Install was pretty easy. Blew me away when it started right up! Idled good but had issues giving it throttle. Spent the better part of the day yesterday jacking with settings and looking for exhaust/intake leaks, only to figure out the wire i tapped into for switched power/cranking power was not consistent. Ran power from battery through a toggle switch and problems solved. Will hide the toggle switch under the dash to provide theft deterrent. Switch needs to be on or car won't start.
Once that was done this morning all was good. Took the car for a couple of short runs up the road to make sure all was ok. Then took it for a 127 mi round trip this afternoon. Not a spit, miss or hiccup. Best part is how it fires right up w/o pumping the throttle and is ready to hit the road right after firing up. Not cold natured like it was with the Carter AFB on it. Could not compare fuel mileage since i came back with a major 30-50mph headwind!

Did you run a return line or is it capped?

I ran a line from the "vent" port on the Fuel Command Center to the "vent" metal line that originally ran to the vented fuel filter between the original fuel pump to the carb. This line runs all the way back to the top of the tank. No issues so far. Of course, i've turned the PWM down for the FiTech fuel pump. I think its running at 50% on Low and around 75% on Mid. Its not getting hot. Just took it for a 20mi spin. Popped the hood as soon as i stopped(still running) and the larger upper part of the Fuel Command Center is cool to the touch. The lower part only slightly warm. Oh, i did put a vented locking gas cap on as well when i did the install.

Yessir, it uses one. Comes with two straps and a bung you can add yourself. Just need to drill a hole. I oppted to have one welded in. Didn't want to chance a leak though FiTech says strapping the bung on seals good.

I plan on hooking up my unit soon
I am going to order the fuel tank ready for efi from tanks inc.
They have the pump and sender and tank.
I'm just trying to figure out the fuel hose stuff does this twist lock fittings really work with the an fittings.
This will be on my 67 impala

The twist lock are a pain to get on, but once there they are good. I goofed and needed to shorten one hose after I put the fitting on and I could not get it off! Had to cut it off..

Ok cool deal so pain to push on did you use some grease or anything else to slide the hose over the fittings.
Looks like tanks Inc has a fuel hose kit for 195 bucks

I used some JB80 and heated the end of hose with a heat gun. Grease may be better

Maybe heat the hose and freeze the fittings.

I was referring to the return port on the throttle body itself. Is that capped or plugged and no return line? I too ran the vent port from the Command Center to the vent line in the gas tank.

I ended up getting a new efi fuel tank the pump inside tank and the sending unit for 475 shipped to the door... Not to bad I think
