I am trying to find out how many people are interested in racing their Nailhead powered cars at the Nats. The class generally has one of the larger payouts but still on average 5-7 cars:confused:
I hope things will be different this year. So far we only have 4-5 cars.
Any questions please feel free to ask away.

Can anyone that had posted that they will be in the Class for 2002 please post here.
All old info had been lost on the GSCA site when it shrank .
So I look forward to a fun year.
    Lets here from the minority.

    John,

In reply to the thread and your question at the GSCA board, I will not be at the nats this year. Looking to have the car complete by nats time 2004, in which case I WILL be in the nailhead class that year.

Mark I hope your resto goes well, and you can bet I will be happy to see your car in the class.

I am hoping that the other people that had said they would be there will post again.
This is a fun class to race and I now some will enter the class at the last minute.
Although I am just trying to see if we will need some help in running the class.
So if you are thinking about it let me know.

Any interest in a BBQ at the track for the class, just a thought.

Just an update on the class, Ken Watson called and wanted his name added to the race class. Ken has been in the class before and asked who else was going to be in the class. All I could do was say I am not sure.
Could the people that posted before that are still going please post again. I may do something like I did in the past with the T-shirts if I had an idea of the number of people.
If you want to stay hidden from view that is fine just send me a PM so I can atleast post a number of people in the class.
Remember that there is strength in numbers.

How would my Riv fare in this. You Wildcat guys probably eat us up. HEHE. Maybe not.

My father in law has a '56 T-bird with a 425 nailhead. Would we be welcome in the nailhead class since we are in fact Buick powered?

I don't think I can convince him to drag out the 66 Riv GS (one of 100 dealer installed dual quad?).

China Mike Bring your Riv, for I am the only Wildcat that usually runs in the class, and our Cat is a boat :D . There is usually atleast 1 other Riv in the class. If your Riv runs like it looks you should not have a problem. This is a bracket class by the way.
All the rules can be seen on my web site, click on the Nailhead race class on the left of the main page.
Mike T try to get the Riv for the week from your father in law. He'll let you use it won't he, well maybe, Oh just bring him with you. Make it a family fun week.
For the most part I think people beat more on their cars on the street than they do on the track.
Hey thats just my opinion, I think.

Mike glad to see your post. I will save you a spot in the trees.
Will you want to use the lower gate at the campground? If so go to GSCA events and check out my post on this site.

    Anyone else?

John, I will be there with my 65 GS Conv. Hopefully I won't break anything this year, last year cost too much!!:ball:

Starc glad to hear you will be there. I should be getting my block back from the machine shop on the 29 of April. I had a block that was being machined and they found a small rust hole in the #1 cylinder we were hopping it was not to deep, but it was "very" deep. I am dropping off another 425 block that I have next week to be done. Then I have a week to get it and the car back together and running. Man isn't STRESS great.
Glad you are in. See you soon
