I am trying to get an idea of the interest in the Nailhead Race Class for the GSCA Nationals in May. This has always been a small class, and it would be great to see it grow. The payouts have been very good for such a small class.
I will add a link or post the rules here this weekend. The rules are the same as in the past, for those that have been in the class.
If you have any questions please ask and I will try to answer them as fast as I see them.
This class is a go for this year but if #'s are low it may have to go.
    The rules are at

Don't forget to respond to the poll.

If you are going what type of car will it be?

I hope to see a good turn out for this Class. Lets show everyone what a Nailhead can do.:3gears:

Bill the Race is at the GSCA Nationals held May18-22 at Beech Bend Raceway, Bowling Green, Ky. This has always been a lot of fun for our family.
You should make the trip. I can set you up with some others from out your way to caravan with.

This Class will have its own staging area in the circle track area as in the past. The class comes out from under the tower, same as Quick 16 and a few of the others.

Could the person who voted yes in the poll please send me a PM or email I have a little extra info and a question.

My site is currently being updated. The rules and all contact info are current.

Hey Ted are you going to run your Cat? I think that would look cool seeing 2 Wildcats going down the track together. If you are going when will you be there?

    Definately

I will be there with my 4-speed convertible. Will they let me run it with the top down? Maybe I should hold off on installing the interior to save some weight! I could install the dual quad set up on it to race too. Hmmm. I better get a hotel room.

Oh yeah, I voted! Not sure where I will stay, I have to check out availability. Probably getting there late Weds.

I may be there... It depends on whether or not the car's ready by then. It's undergoing a body-off, and is currently out getting a copule dings straightened and then painted. Hopefully I'll be able to get her back together by then!!! But not entirely sure yet...

Brett how is the car coming? Let me know if there is anything you need to get it on the road.

Ted how is your Cat coming along?
Did you get a room yet?
We are staying at the Campground as usual:TU:

It has been to muddy for me to get my Wildcat and it is driving me crazy. Darn weather in Maine:rant:

Joe you are closer to BG than I am to you. I have about a 700 mile ride to you and then the other 650 to BG:rolleyes:  .
Bring that Riv out and show them what it's got:3gears: it is a Nailhead isn't it:Do No: .
At the moment it looks as though most of the cars in the class are the BIG ONES.:Brow: .

I would love to go John, but May is my busiest month and my wife has to work until the third week of June before she gets off for the summer. Believe me, if I could swing it, I would certainly be there. :bglasses:

    Friday or Saturday???

Anyone wanting to race Friday evening in the Nailhead Class please let me know. I was asked if the race could be on Friday and I am trying to see what fellow Nailheaders think.
I need to let the people in charge know real soon.
    Thanks

I guess this thread popped back up because someone responded to the poll, but while it's up here I'd like to say I think a front engine dragster class, nailheads only, would be very cool! :TU:

This sounds like it would be fun to do with the 66 when it's done. It probably won't be until next year at the earliest though. That would allow me to do what I want to do with the car, and still run is a "stock" class. I really want to upgrade to a 3 speed automatic, and I understand that may be a problem with some stock class rules (I'm still checking on that) as mine came with a 2 speed stock.

    Going to the Nationals

I hope someone shows up for a 401 GS showdown.

  18. I'm very new here and gotta ask the (dumb) question... Is this class for cars that originally came with and are currently running a nailhead, or to any cars with nailhead power??? My coupe will never be ready by this year, but if I could run in the nailhead class it would certainly be something to plan for next year !!!!! :eek2: :eek2:

Newbie young cat with a 65 Wildcat!!!

Hey whats up there guys? So you all have nailheads and a couple of ya have Wildcats huh? Well thats great cause there isn't anyone with old school muscle around where I live because the new rice grinder crap is in and all they get to see is the rear end of my 600hp 65 Buick Wildcat with a Pontiac 455 in it. YEAH! :3gears: So theres a nailhead thing goin on huh? Well truthfully I havent done anything to the 445 yet because I am a starting mechanic when it comes to Buicks and all that not chevy stuff. I've been building cars for a while now and those where all chevys, fords, and hemi powered dodges, but never a buick! This Wildcat is my first REAL car and I am gonna keep it forever so maybe you guys can give me some pionters, and some sites or somthing where I can get all the good stuff or parts and I promise to be there next year with two nailhead powered buicks!!!! :TU:
