I was lucky enough to get my 64 Special in the Oct. issue in the Hometown Hot Rodding section. Also Won the Mothers Picture perfect award in that issue. I think Buick made some of the best looking wagons ever built, but some would call me bias toward them. But as the rest of you wagon owners on the Board know " Wagons are Hot"
It is a 225 v6 Built by T/A performance. It has Buick 340 Hi comp pistons , iron ported heads by T/A with larger 340 Buick valves , a T/A custom grind cam , Offenhauser dual port intake with a Holley 390 cfm 4 barrel. The trans is a 5 speed T5 out of a 90 Camero. Has decent power for cruising , and fun to drive with the 5speed.
That is a sweet wagon with an interesting drivetrain. Unique to say the least. Is it a factory 2 door or is it custom?
Congratulations!:beers2: Did you know it was going to be in there or were you "surprised" as you were reading it in the checkout line? :eek2:
It was made into a 2 door , and I was suprised by a friend who called me when he recieved his issue before me. Made it tough waiting for my copy.
:Brow: I can relate; I have had that experience a couple times now. Friend: "Hey, is that your Chevelle in Car Craft?" Me: "...no, I don't think so...." Friend: "Seymore, you doofus, yes it is! Page 80 of the July issue":spank: Me: "HEY!! Look everybody!" Here's the latest iteration of that story: http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=136378
Hey TOm, That is a bad a$$ wagon! Inspiration for my '65 i'm building. I got my copy yesterday and couldnt believe it...A BUICK wagon on a mag! :TU: :TU:
Do you have more pictures? If you can send some to my add, that would be cool. mmanzano@glsbr.net :TU:
OK, you did good with that wagon. Better than I would have done with it actually. It would be hauling car parts and such for me with 4drs right now. The best man did win this one. Love the colour and the detail job on everything. However..... don't like the portholes because they are on way too many cars now.
