Nice car, congratulations! Just curious, why not just drive it home?

    Thanks!

Just what I was comfortable doing, and it's nice to have someone to talk to for 16 hours

Plus Justin would of had to drive his acquisition through "the gauntlet"= the cross Bronx expressway. The roads are drivers are better in Mumbai India than the Bronx!

Actually, he could have gone, Grand Central Pkwy, across the Tri-Borough Bridge to the Harlem River Drive to the GWB. Remember how much better that was Jason?

    But he was towing.

One thing I forgot to mention to Justin was that when I washed the car, I only washed it below the vinyl top like I do with all vinyl top cars. The top and glass gets wiped clean with the drying rag. I would recommend he do the same if he doesn't already. And black shoe polish works great on that top. Buff it like a pair of shoes!

No, I meant if he was driving the car home, no towing would have been involved. I avoid the Cross Bronx Madway like the plague.

You aren't kidding j-cook! I'm not sure which was worse, the road conditions or the people on them. We caught a few potholes I thought were going to chuck the car off the trailer, and we were gonna being peeing blood from bruised kidneys. Luckily we're from the Midwest so we're used to crappy roads....

But all in it wasn't anything unexpected. Just wish we had time to hang with ya a little longer. Oh well, maybe next time when I come to pick up the '70 4 speed car... :D:p:cool:

On a related note, Taulb finally made me (he really had to twist my arm. NOT) drive the car after hitting up the cruise in last week. Man, that thing really is legit, it drives as good (or maybe better??) than it looks! (If that's even possible)

Good washing tips Cook, it makes perfect sense yet I've never thought of that! Shoe polish eh?

Speaking of bumpy roads.. 3 things fell straight off in the journey home. The passenger headlight wire, turn signal flasher, and a vacuum line to the cruise control. All easy fixes just to plug back in.. yet I was somehow surprised it wasn't more given the 3rd world roads we traveled back on.. I'm sure traffic is peachy when some lanes are closed for repair.

Though in some defense, a lot of the longer stretches of terrible roads were in Pennsylvania. I think the entire state is under construction with exception for the turnpikes.

Cook told me to go that way since it's the smoothest, I wouldn't want to go on any of the other routes you fellas are talking about!

Wow, maybe our roads out here aren't so bad!
