I still don't believe it... He was 16, his birthdays in two weeks. I saw him getting on the highway thursday after school and then he dies friday morning? It just doesn't seem real.

He was not the kind of kid that would speed or be on the phone while driving. I think he kicked up the speed a little because he was running late (Authorities said around 8 AM) We have to be in homeroom by 8:05 and the parking lot is two minutes away from the school. He crashed about 7 minutes away from the school. In Latin, I got his books everyday before class, he took mine back to the shelf after class. We haven't done it in a few days, i told him we would pick it back up tuesday since we werent going to have latin friday. Now what? He won't be there.

Jamie had everything going for him- He was smart, funny, respected and treated everyone right, a good soccer player, a cute girlfriend. I still think I'm gonna talk to him tuesday.

Is it wrong to feel completly normal? It hasn't hit me yet. Everyone was balling crying, I just stood there with a blank stare, shaking a little. I wasn't crying when they told us around 11 AM, when we went to the prayer service at 7 PM, everyone broke down and cried at the end, I didn't. Is that normal?

There is a silver lining to everything and I think Jamie would want us to see that: Us (teens) aren't invincible like we think.

please pray for Jamies family, they need it, I don't. I can get through this easier than they do.

    Thanks,
    Louie

Wow, sorry to hear about that.

your feeling are completely normal. Not everyone balls their eyes out at the same time. People grieve in different ways.

X3 about grieving differently! We all do, I know this personally! Everybody does it different and in a different amount of time! You take care, and make sure you talk out your feelings with someone you can talk with!!
My prayers are with you during your recovery process.

Sorry to hear this, Louie. I lost a brother the same way. He was 17 at the time and I was 19. There's no right or wrong way to grieve, it may even be delayed for you. Not to worry, you'll do it in your own way. It's so sad when things like this happen, especially when it happens to a young person who had their whole life ahead of them.

    Very sorry to hear this.
It's never easy to loose someone, when you are both young it's even harder.
I grew up in a small town and saw a couple friends go early back in school.

    Hard to comprehend.
Stay strong and think of the good times.
Keep him alive with your memories.

Sorry to hear that Louie, years ago I lost one buddy at 18 and another at 19, fairly close together too. It'll probably sink in eventually. I know it's hard to believe!

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it. Last night was one of the saddest games I've ever been too. We won 65-20, after the game we all went on the court and sang his song: just a friend. His cousin came up to me and just started crying on my shoulder, Then it all finally came out and it felt right.

    Thanks again,
    Louie

It's good to let it out Louie. Never buy into that macho bs about crying, it WILL come out one way or the other. And it might not be good.

Brandy just lost her best friend of 35 years afew days ago in a crash near Fort Sill, OK

Time heals all wounds, but you will always wear the scars.
    I'm sorry for y'all....:(

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Not all people grieve in the same way, some let their emotions out and some don't. It doesn't mean you don't care. Live each day as if it were your last.

Louie, stay strong and pray for Jamie's family and friends. Our time here on Earth is temporary, our impact can be lasting. Jamie sounds like the type of person whose impact will be lasting. Prayers to lift all of you.
