When I apply my emergency brake the cable interferes with my shifter linkage, can someone send me pictures of the emergency brake cable setup from underneath a four speed car?
    Thank you

Tim, look under the Chassis Restoration forum here. The sticky...Flynbuick's GSX Stage 1...there are excellent shots of the underside where you can see the cable routing, and that's a 4 spd car.

The cable goes over, and not through the cross member, even though your cross member may have an oval hole in it.

The pictures of Jim’s GSX show’s that the cable runs through the crossmember like mine. If I were to put the cable over the crossmember it looks like it will interfere with the shifter even worse.?

This kind of stuff is hard to figure out because the cars have all been tampered with. First, your cable looks too loose, are the side hooks there? Was it an original 4spd 455 car? The adjuster should be like in the middle of the threaded area. There are different length cables and hooks. It's definitely too loose now, it should be like fairly taut.

Yes it is a factory four speed car, and I have all of the hooks. I will get it off the ground and tighten up the cable to see if that helps.
    Thanks

If it shows the cable going through the hole, it was an early picture before we corrected it.

I don't think tightening the cable will help. There are different length intermediate cables, and front cables, that's why I asked about the originality. It looks like the intermediate cable is too long or stretched, or the front cable is too long. There should be 2 1/2 thickness nuts on the adjuster. Here's a pic of Dave's (copperheadgs1) GSX 455 car. Notice the speedo cable routing and double nuts. The car's crap (lol) but he at least he got the cable right!
