    Hey guys,

My engine finally arrived today and is in the back of my truck until tomorrow. Logistics did not allow me to unload it this evening (namely my 7 month old son). I did unscrew one side of the crate to get a peek. Man. I can't wait to get this baby installed. I hope to keep you posted as Mike (Kick71) did during his install. I'm sure I will run into the usual problems but hopefully it will all turn out great. Wish me luck !!:TU:

I had a block/girdle done by AM&P. They are great guys to deal with.
A few of my machinist buddies were very impressed with the machining compared to the work they had done locally on their mopars after they measured everything with some mega buck gauges.
Very high quality craftsmanship. Best of Luck.

Thanks guys. I haven't got the build sheet packet yet but Mike said it makes great power: 551 HP / 563 TRQ. Frank, I will definitely be at Towershoppes when everything is done ... you in town?

I'm trying to get as much stuff as I can together before we start the install but I'm sure I'll forget a few things.

I got her uncrated and unloaded this morning. It's a nice breezy day in the 80's here in South Florida ... great for working outside.

Here's a few pics. One of these days I will get my garage back in shape.

I have your numbers Steve .. thanks.

Looks great Scotty, should go like a scalded cat. Hope you have drag radials. One thing I would do is paint those heads and Intake. You will not like how they look after awhile. Now is the time to do it.

Scotty, Christmas comes early. A fresh motor with some balls. Got to love it.

I had my 70BBB machined by Automotive Machine and Performance. Great guys with class. Fast with class.

My 70BBB engine also comes before Christmas with a touch of Mr. Big.
Glen (Mr. Big) gives his attention to the engine build to every little detail.

Pride must be his middle name.

Keep us posted, as I will in the future.

Yeah, I just re-installed the passenger side inner fender and freed up some more floor space.

I was also taking the old pulleys off the 400. What kind of crappy design is that for the 4 water pump threaded studs? There is one spot partially down the stud that is not threaded that I grabbed onto with a pair of pliers? I was scared I was going to strip it....

Larry, I hear what you are saying about the aluminum "hazing", but I love that look (not the haze look but aluminum). I guess clear coating them is not an option???

Clear coating may turn yellow over time, maybe not. If you like the aluminum look, then paint it with Eastwoods alumiblast or other silver paint like this.

The nice thing about aluminum is the paint will not blister because the aluminum dissipates the heat so quickly. My heads and intake are painted Buick Red and they look the same as day 1. Trust me, there is nothing worse than a stained aluminum intake or heads. It's very difficult to clean.

The T goes into the bottom of the air cleaner. The engine builder came up with that. I like it as well.

    Scotty,

Did you try double nutting them, to get the studs out? That usually works. On my engine, I just put new ones in the new pump, and left the old ones alone. Again, I double nutted them to tighten them. (Sorry if I misunderstood your statement.) Good luck and take your time. No need to rush. She looks awesome!
