Guys, this has got to be the most insane time of my life. I have one more week to pack up all our stuff. We're moving ourselves.

I can't even begin to tell you all the feelings and emotions that go with all of this. I'm just on auto pilot and I guess it'll all sink in when we're finally up there.

We sold our house in NJ in 6 days for full asking price. Our closing is the 27th of Jan and our closing on our property up in Maine is the 30th. We found a house to rent in Bar Harbor till the spring when our 4 bedroom modular should be completed at which time we will be able to start moving our stuff out of storage little by little.

If it was someone else doing all this instead of me I'd think they were nuts. But it's funny when you want something as bad as we want this move for our family, you just do it without thinking about it. When you really want it bad enough, it's not a chore.

    Anyways, wish me luck ok!

I'll update my email address in my profile in a couple days since I won't have my optonline anymore, and probably dial up when I get to Maine because Verizon and Adelphia both have no high speed internet access on Mount Desert Island. :ball:

I'll have to go back to the old way.

Unless I can go sattellite which wouldn't be too bad on the download side, but the uploads suffer a bit from what I here.

Well, be good folks, I'll be back soon. :TU:

Ken good luck with your move to vacation land. Every summer my family and I would take the Bluenose ferry out of Bar Harbor to Yarmouth, NS to see my mother's family. There was an old indian gift shop just across the road from the ferry port, that sold leather mocasins and such. Also there was an 1/8 mile drag strip in Ellworth which is just up the road from BH. I spent my first 10 years of life in East Machias, and we would drive to Ellsworth for school, xmass etc shopping. Because that was the closest town with real stores. I would guess not much has changed in 25 years. We then moved to York, ME which is where I stayed until I joined the Army. I have not been north of Portland since 1987.

In all I have some great memories of the old downeast area. I still have a lot of family in the Machias area. So if things ever turn sour or you need a hand, there is help close by.

    You're living the dream !!!
