I am looking at options to put a modern dual reservoir master cylinder and booster on my 58 Buick. I want to keep the factory drum brakes and the car already has power brakes. I know my 70 Electra had the factory drum brakes with the modern booster and master cylinder. I do not want to use a $400 bolt in kit. What do you guys suggest?

When I bought my '58 Special 3 years ago, I did research the modern power brake system. I found some really well documented information by Mike Rowand www.rowand.net. It's an older site but it contains a lot of information with good commentary. Look under the shop tech page on his site. He also has photos too. Hope this might help you in your quest.

    my suggestion:
if you plan to keep the car for 10 years
this "investment" will cost you only $3.33 a month

make it yourself easy: buy the kit and dont look back :)

They used the same boosters on disc and drum cars in the 60s, but didn't have proportioning valves iirc. I was thinking of removing the T junction and running the front and rear brake lines independently straight to the master cylinder. Like how the factory would have done it.
