I just noticed the new forum here. Cool! :TU:
I thought I'd put a few pics of my little V8 engine. Some of you have seen it before.. but for those that haven't, here it is....

I'm still not done with it. I'm in the middle of moving the distributer to the front, and the generator to the right side.
Someday I'll get back to it.

    air cleaner in progress.....
Keep in mind, I'm no carpenter. I used a dremel, a hacksaw, and a bench grinder with a stone wheel.

    Sweet air cleaner!

Do they still sell that visible V8?
I made one when I was 10 years old or so.
The plugs were little red light bulbs that lit when the plug was supposed to fire.
Wanted to build another over the years.

    Thanks Joe :TU:
My garage smelled like burnt wood for a week after grinding on that baby! :Dou: A belt sander would have been nice.

Dale, This isn't the model with the light up spark plugs, or a battery powered roatation. This one just cranks by hand.
That would be awesome to find one of the battery powered ones!

Rick....totally cool air cleaner!! That was a great idea. Really came out nice. I cant wait to see the rest of the conversion. Keep us posted! You may not know it but they made a model called "The Visible Chassis" along with the "Visible V8" . It was a 3 foot long automobile chassis that was made to fit "The Visible V8" It had a clear manual transmission with working gears, a clear differential with a ring and pinion, working hydraulic brakes ( you fill the master with water), complete working front end with springs and shocks. A really neat kit. Once in a while you catch one on Ebay. Too bad they didnt make a Visible Buick body to go along with it!

They are still making this kit - don't have mfgr. or part no.,
but they were available from our wholesale plastic model distributor and it's the exact same kit as the original right down to the packaging.:TU:
