The 2009 Mission Raceway Park schedule begins Friday, April 10th with a Test & Tune during the afternoon, followed by the Mopac Performance Steet Legal #1 at night. I'm thinking of taking the day off to be at the races. I may spectate, or race my GN. Gurtz S. will be there with his 87 GN and Rob S. driving either the GN or '89 Pontiac TTA. I spoke to Joe H.(Joe's GSX) today, and he may come with me to Mission, if his holiday plans allow. Any others who'd like to meet or race at the drags? Hi Joe, Are you familiar with Mission's reservation booking sytem for the Friday Test and Tune? Do you have to pre-pay to reserve a spot? What time is best to be there for time trials, prior to racing? Geri has the day off, and will be coming, as well. Still have room in the GN for you and Everett, or Daniella. Sorry Nando, I haven't raced there in quite a few years. I'm not familiar with that system. I'm on call that weekend so I won't be going away. Probably take my on vehicle to the race. But I'll wait for you to check out the helmet. Joe
Hi Joe, I have it sorted out regarding the reservation system. Laura, from Mission Raceway, called me back on Wednesday to confirm my reserved spot. A new rule, the track will be imposing this year, concerns Test & Tune. Cars will only be allowed to run with slicks or D.O.T. drag radials, during T&T. Only, during Street Legal Drags, you may run street radials. I wanted to run in the T&T with the GN, since the SL Drags starts @ 5:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.. That'd be too late for me, since I work the next day. The GS has a fresh set of BFG Drag Radials. I may insure the GS for the day, and run it instead. Regardless, I'm committed to going, even if it's only to spectate. I'll call you on Thursday to confirm. Take care, Nando.
Unfortunately, all racing events from April 10-12 at Mission Raceway Park, have been cancelled due to ongoing construction at the site. Racers who had reservations for April 10th will be given a spot on April 24th's reservation list. Take care, Nando.
