...after all that, sorry it wasn't successful. Had chronic ear infections as kid (before PE tubes), ruptured ear drums, mastoid infections, eroded bones in middle ear...left me with significantly diminished hearing and tinnitus (school audiologists never understood I hear sounds as soon as earphones on). Fast forward to 2014...2 surgeries including titanium stapes...touted fix didn't work, hearing and tinnitus worse. Over years, I had managed to effectively tune-out tinnitus, don't know if there's enough time left to do it again. I understand restaurant...background noise drowns out speech...and intentionally noisy restaurants are a current Millennial fad... Thanks for decomp link...may help explain cause for wife's recent tinnitus after yawning...so far specialists/imaging providing no answers...
Hearing loss is the only disability people get pissed off at you for having. For me, it was fixing dynamometers for 11 years. My hearing loss is worse in my left ear because that was the window that was open in the car when I was testing the calibration. And even with perfect hearing, wives always sound like Charlie Brown's teacher
As you found out Miracle Ear is a ripoff. The best prices I have seen is at Costco. Get your testing done elsewhere if you want, but shop Costco for good quality at the best price.
