I just piced up a really good deal. Its a mini blower from Weiand. A 174 I think. I was wondering if anyone had tried to put one of these on ythere buick 455s? I know a different manifold would be needed but could it be done? Is there someone out there like maybe BDS or Hamton that would make a manifold for me to bold this on one of my buick motor? I know both companies make complete blower kits for the 455. My little brother is going to be buying a 671 from them soon. I was just wondering if I could use a intake from one of these kits and just bolt it together or would I have to geta 2x4 manifold and have something fabed up? Just tring not to let my little brother run away from me to fast at the track.
    Thanks Doug

    I'm no expert, but...

From a quick look on Holley's website, I would say that your blower could be made to work, but you might need something fabbed up. A 6-71 is significantly larger than your blower, and I can't imagine them taking the same intake.

My first reaction was that it would be too small for a 455, but it looks like Holley's own smaller blowers can work just fine with a 454, so you should probably be OK there.

I thought I might need a intake and saw that holley had been used on a 454 on hot rod TV for a wagon they did. I thought that would be cool to have a small blower that was under the hood and stil run my nitrous kit. I was going to a 3or4 inch cowl and thought if I have the room for a small blower that I would put on on. Hard to beleive I was just thinking to myself about it and know it looks like it might just happen. I will check the holley guys out as well. Thanks For the help.

Something along these lines? This setup (if I remember correctly) was pulled out of this truck and sold, but I don't know any details.
