64 Hardtop with a 300, all original, 2 door. Under 60k original miles, original hubcaps, no rust. They will take $7500 for it.

I have the money but here is my dilemma. My girlfriend is moving in so I don't have the space in my garage to put it that I originally did. I have 2 Mustangs in the garage right now and she doesn't think having a 3rd car is a necessity. She feels I should pay off my house with the money and start saving for a bigger one (house).

Not sure what to do here.

    My educated advice......lolol
    1. sell the two Mustangs...no where near as much fun as a Buick (or two)
    2. use the $$ on the house
    3. buy the '64....no better looking 'Lark in my bias opinion
    4. keep looking for a sweet '65 as you desire
    5. tell the girlfriend you need a bigger garage!!! NOT a bigger house!!!
    6. unless she's a gearhead....FIND one!
    Enjoy your '64:TU:

your house is more important than a car. do what financially is best for you. she is your girlfriend not your wife. do what you think is best. break her in
not the other way around. :Brow: jim

Can't sell the 2 Mustangs. One's been in the family since new, the other is way too clean and fun to get rid of.

What really worries me is the way things are going with the auto industry and the push for green cars. I'm still relatively young (30), and I'm thinking, down the road are we even going to be able to drive old cars? Are they going to take them away and crush them because they don't get over 20 mpg? I've been following price trends with old cars and it seems across all spectrums prices are dropping like crazy and, besides the downturn in the economy, I'm wondering why.

But....I still want a Buick. So much so that I feel like it's an obsession. So it looks like I have a big decision to make.....
If I don't get the '64 (I've been on the fence about it for several months), eventually I'll find the one car I can't say no to.

p.s. It looks like I can still get the 69 Chevelle....mainly just to fix up but it won't cost anything.

Amen brother! I didn't tell my wife or 39 years about the car until it was in the garage. She got over it!

if you get the chevelle your just going to be 1 of 20 CHEVELLES in the show and 1 of 50 chevys in the show if you get the 64 you will be 1 of 8 or 9 BUICKS in the show.

as for the younger gen comments, i completely agree my school parking lot is full of rice boxes.

Hi I just signed up to this site and own a '66 Skylark that I need to sell. I bought this car in the mid '90s and have replaced the engine once. I'm not a the best with cars by any means, I just love muscle cars and need to give this one a new home. I live in Mokena IL, maybe 40miles south of Chicago. I am in the process of taking some photos of my car. Its' a 2 dr hardtop, blue, black interior, 401 nail head, H-pipe, headers, 650 Carter. Let me know if anybody is interested, I'll try my best to answer your questions.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

Quick update. I want the 64 Skylark but IL taxes will be $500....kind of takes what would have been a good deal and kicks it in the butt.....so I'm still looking.

My bank has been bought out and I was really concerned about my mortgage. Hopefully everything will be ok with that so now I can start looking for a car again.

Update: Last week I found a car and today I picked it up.

    Well, it's not a Buick.

It's a 1966 Biscayne 2 door post. All original, rust free, 69k miles.

I can't believe I found this car, it's one of those things you think people make up. The gentleman I bought it from couldn't have been any nicer.

If anyone wants to see pics I can post some later. I've seen a lot of Impalas from this year but never a Biscayne at a car show, so should be the only one there with one.

I love that!!! I had a 66 BelAir and it had a 283 with AC. I bought it in like 89 and somebody wrecked it!! I was heart broken. I bought it and drove it upstate on a 400 mile run. Never had a problem, and had the AC pumping the whole time.

Let me say this, the day my then girlfriend at the time went on that trip we gave some truckers a wild show!!!!!!

Never had to get in the bcak seat cause the front bench was huge!!!

ALot of good memories in my 66. I'd grab another if I came across one. Please post soem pictures when you can.
