    Jim;
I don't know if we have ever met.
You have wrote a very impressive letter of explanation.
Hopefully all things work out for the best...

I don't know you, but from reading your letter you gotta be a real upstanding guy. I can appreciate all the family issues you have been going through.
Besides getting ripped off by scam artists, I think you have been royally played! That is so sick. Please be assured there are a lot of us good people
out there to do business with. I guess we all gotta be careful as much as we
    can,.
    Take Care,
    Mark

I bought a lot of parts from Jim and they were perfect,he also gave me a lot of advice on an engine build and it was spot on in all respects. I was completely satisfied with everything Jim had said, done or sold me.
I am sorry to hear how things have worked out for him in this business venture and the family situation is very difficult on top of it.
I wish Jim nothing but the the best in the future and hope he can pick things up and keep going somehow because I believe he is a knowledgeable honest individual that got caught in the middle of a impossible situation. Just my 2c. Peace, Mike D.

    JIm,

    Best Regards,

Why did you have to post this? What bad feelings did I miss??? :Do No: I don't know Jim, but respect him for the knowledge and work he does for Buicks and this site. :beer
I also ddon't recall him being held accountable for Bulldog. That was years ago and we're all still a very cordial bunch.:)
Of course I'm not privy to some of the behind the scene complaints I guess. :idea2: I never thought all of this would be needed.
But when I ever get $ you're my guy!!! :TU:

EDIT: Nevermind. Thought this was about the other Jim. Hard to pay attention at 3:00am and 'faced.
I remember the other thread now Jim L. thanks. I'm still shocked at the questions of quality and why make 25 parts for Poston if they're not gonna pay ya?

I hope one day this will all be resolved.

The rhetorical question is whether during these hard times you continued to take advances from customers when you knew or reasonably should have known that you could not produce the goods.

Hope you get back on your feet soon Jim! I feared the BullDog block thing was not going to work out from the git go... As you found out, once they have your money, you are out of options. Oh sure, you could try to sue them, but it would cost so much more than the initial investment for lawyer fees. BullDog would have drug it out for years, only to tie up more money that you didn't have.:blast: The one with the most money nearly always wins. You had no chance again them.

I think the sticky should be dropped, or at least the letter be added to the original post.:Smarty:

Jim sorry for you family issues, but we all have them some even worse then you.
But they don't mess up there only lifely hood, by scamming there customers.
And for a man who was having these family troubles (who normaly should/could relate to someones else his pain), it wasn't very funny to be laughed at true the phone, when calling for the 30th time about my engine build, after telling you I need that engine now, like you promised and broke that promise over and over again.
Another thing is you say you don't know about any defects or work that wasn't done right or at all on a parts.

If I as a non Buick Engine Builder, must tell you what YOU not have done right...what in name sake was I thinking when I orderd a engine at your shop?!
But If you want, I can explain it to you with a picture a long with it to make things even more clear.
And cause your hard to reach, I can if you wish put it up on any Buick forum so you can read it and comment on.

The only thing I'm afraid of is that it will hurt your name just more.
The best thing for you to do is, is to come clean and tell the whole true story. And to resolve all the customers problems and money pit situations you created among you customers.
I and others lost many thousands of dollars after doing business with you, I even lost my sponsor because of you, I told you that many times and what did I get Laughed  at true the phone?
And after that Big Laugh, I thought lets try this a different way and asked you what it would take to get my engine ready and shipped..
You said, again with a Big smile you could hear true the phone cause it was still funny... MONEY!

Money?! I said?!!? I payed that engine in full 6 months ago, (because it was build to be finished in 6-8 weeks).
Yeah, you said but I haven't got that money anymore

After this I sure couldn't laugh anymore for a long time, I have tot thank MY Family and friends and fellow Buick members to help me to get true this deal with Jim Burek.
And they saved me from losing my sanity over this.

:gp: Good posting Opa, I don't think this one can be explained away, But I would sure like to hear Jim try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should judge a business by how they do business when things go bad. some will step up to the plate, others wont answer the phone. It's much easier to do the right thing when things are going well

Robert, I did not laugh at you. I don't know why you think I was laughing at you. I agreed to do what you wanted me to do.
As I have said, I am very sorry for the entire situation and am trying to take care of things. I do not what else I can do. Jim

Maybe if the people feeling bad about Jims issues with life would have experienced his continued excuses for common parts and machine work, the letter from the heart woudln't have such an sad impact:

    1. Order parts (Not a Bull Dog Block) and never receive them after months of phone calls and full payment at the time of order.

    2. Feel bad about him not having enough money to get the machine work finished when he said it was finished but he couldn't pay for it, so I sent him more money.

    3. Then doing the worst busness decision in the world and send even more money after listening to his bad news stories to help pay the machine shop so we could receive the parts and he didn't have to use his money..... still never received the parts after several months of waiting.

    4. Receive a supposedly new transmission that had metal shavings in the pan

    5. Receive a torque converter that wasn't even close to the correct stall and the wrong size

Fortunately for me VISA hammers business people like Jim and they went after him. That is the only way I could have gotten my money back. Sorry folks but having problems in life is what we all deal with and doesn't excuse Jim from taking advantage of good people in the Buick community (or any other). Maybe some of you should research the poor guy in Europe and the outcome of his business dealings with Jim, because he trusted him and paid for his engine rebuild in advance.

I tell those I manage at work, I dont want excuses - I want answers on how you plan to make things right

While I do feel sympathy for the obstacles life has thrown Jim's way, I would have much rather read on how he plans to make good to each individual he owes. A short search easily turned up a fistful of names and tens of thousands of dollars still outstanding ...
