Recommendations on a good fuel pump for the 300 engine. Want to try fuel pump replacement before trying to splice in a electric fuel pump. Lots of hi-po fuel pumps for the bigger engines, but don't see anything for the little guy.
Try the Carter. For 19.72 on rockauto, it's worth a shot. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...l+300cid+v8,1319071,fuel+&+air,fuel+pump,6256 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=295958&cc=1319071&jsn=405
The only other thing I can recommend, and this is WAY overkill, is to get the 550 pump from Robb Mc Performance. It's meant for the 455 but Robb will put a SBB arm on it for you. I think Mark Demko went that route. https://www.robbmcperformance.com/products/buick550.html http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/got-my-new-robb-mc-pump.309578/#post-2573044
i might have a spare carter 350 laying around - a spare spare . I think it's a higher output with clockable body . have to check . I know I just moved it when cleaning .
Larry, thanks for the McRobb suggestion and the Carter pump. I'll try the Carter as I don't think my engine has enough power to move the pump lever on the McRobb unit. The poor thing would probably just grunt and not start. Hopefully it's the pump, as I replaced it several hundred miles ago with a Autozone unit made in God knows where.
