If you've won a pile of them, why are you so bent about that one year? :Do No:

Mike, just to let you know, I'm not pro Miller OR anti Kleiner. I was just making an observation. There is a chance you may have seen Larry's "20 footer" yellow GSX that he sold to Jeff Corkill a couple years ago. I could see you thinking it may not be first or even second place material. Have you ever seen his 71 Red X? That was done by Dave and FWIW, Larry did a lot of it over because he wasn't content with some aspects of it. That may be niether here nor there, but that's what he did.

I've certainly got no axe to grind here. I'm sorry if I touched a sore spot. You obviously are close with Dave and know his work. I think Kleiners work is beautiful too. I was just in shock and took a slight bit of offense knowing a thing or two about Larry's cars when you said your GSX was 40 times nicer, practically equating his to a POS. I just thought it was a bit over the top for what I had originally stated, which I actually still stand by. I don't know why you got dissed at the Nats, but in any case you all have beautiful cars, I just wish mine was on the road. I'll probably be retired first. :eek2:

Mike,Just wondering what was the reason your car was thrown out of the show? I know that I saw it that year you showed it at the GS Nats and it certainly was a nice car and in my opinion should have placed.LM cars are also very nice and I hope to restore my GSX to look as good as either your or Larry's GSX's.Was the judging by popular vote as that can explain a deserving car not getting the recongintion it deserves?

To drag it thru the mud one more time I had registered to show with the club however since I brought my car in from the back gate on a trailor with a broken trans (thrashed it the day before) I went out rolled it off the trailor and set up in the grass and left. I was in the correct class with the correct number preregestered at the club level to be there and then Noone told me to sign up with the show officials so I could get "credit" for being there!

After I sat around my car later and watched it get a ton of votes I knew I had at least placed in the show and when I didnt get anything I went to see what happened (I counted all of the vote sheets and had second place over the third place by over 100 votes) I was then told I wasnt registered to show and all of my (2nd place) votes were dumped out and I was disqualified to win. Then when I went to Rich L he said see Bennet and the story I got was that the second place guy would swap to a 3rd but Larry would not so I was S.O.L.

I was in the correct car class with my correct number I was preregistered to show therefore I was to be there and yet since noone told me that I was to register AGAIN with the club attending the show part I will not have any thing to say about it. SOOoooooo I said yes I do and I quote
No way Brad will sell it anyway but you never can tell!! So there you have it. Even tho I was told by more than 20 others that they thought it was BS that I was done that way nothing ever happened so I just went away with a major attitude. And I have never went and put a car in the show. AND I never walk thru the show either. If anyone has been around me on show day note that I will look at them on the hill and say yep its a car show all right and then go on with whatever. I am a firm beleiver that you never go back to the same yard to be bit again.....

My attitude is different now its all about how fast can I go, matter a fact I never go to cruise night anymore around here since it feels to much like a show to me ................

Mike,Was your car on the show field in the correct class and in the same show area as the other GSX's in that class? If so it would seem like a hairbrained idea to disqualify your car if you were preregistred,on site in correct show class, and the spectaters knew enough to vote for your car in that class.

Just to set the record straight and I don't want to sound like an jerk, but....the Prototype is NOT for sale at any price...not now...not ever in the future. Period. I've already turned down enough $$$ to put all 3 kids through the best schools in the country, build a nice home and retire without any $$ worries for the rest of my life. And to further reduce any other postings on my other cars... no, they are not for sale either. Don't bother even asking. How could I break up a set like the Prototype GSX, the only black GSX from the factory and the sole surviving Prototype GNX?

Rusty Yes I was in the GSX class I had a yellow GSX on each side of mine and the white Dempseys car was 4 away from mine towards the pavement. Like I said I was in the right row with the right car with the correct number on my car and was eliminated!!:af:

Brad I knew that you will never sell the GSX prototype it was a figure of speach only!! However if I ever won the lotto (have to play first) I would love to pay you to park it in my garage for a week or so :Brow: I would park all my cars outside for that tiume too!!! :eek2:

why the comments that "you're glad to see our cars are finally bringing this kind of money"?.....it doesn't look like the car sold so I'd say from the looks of the auction results, they are not. Thnx Patton
