Has anyone used an aftermarket master cylinder without power assist? I am currently putting a stage 3 470 in my 85 Regal that wont allow power brakes and need a master cylinder that will be able to handle 4 wheel discs. The fronts are stock discs for now and the rear is a 9" with 11" discs. Is anyone loyal to a specific brand or bore size or type of master cylinder? Thanks, Tom

I'm using the Wildwood big bore master cylinder on my Skylark with no power assist and four wheel disc brakes. Ive got 10.5 and 10 inch disc front and rear respectively.(Updating the fronts soon) It is basically just the Chrysler K car master with thier part number on it . It has the aluminum body with the plastic resivior. All of the aftermarket brake manufacturers have a version of this same master. It works.
It is the same style I use to stop my race car from almost 200mph.
    Good luck

    200! Holy Sheet!
So, George - did you need to use thread adapters for your stock lines? I am thinking about using one of those masters, but with power brakes.
Are all K cars the same? I'd like a bigger bore is possible, maybe a station wagon (?)

Also - how do you shift that "crash box" 5 speed? Do you just slam it? Mine is loud enough (gear whine) I can't imagine how loud yours is with straight cut gears!

I did use the adapters on the master. You could use the "true" Chrysler one to save a few bucks but if you buy the Wildwood or other aftermarket , you can be sure of the bore size. That would be important with a powerbooster for sure.
One caveat, the bolts on the firewall DO NOT LINE UP. I had to remove one stud from the firewall and insert a bolt to bolt up the master. It was no big deal.Just reinforce the head with a flat washer to give a little extra support so the bolt cannot pull through.

Once you get past about 150-160 in the quarter its all blurry anyway.

My transmission in one word--crunchy. Other than high speed shifting you have to double clutch or it sounds like an old school bus. Noisy ...hmmm people ask me if it has a gear drive!
