I searched the forums looking for someone who made their own divorce choke linkage for a Quadrajet fitted to a Stage 1 TAPerformance Manifold utilizing the TAPerformance Choke Thermostat with Cover for the Buick 350, unless I am blind I couldn't find one.
I had some ideas, a clothes hanger was one of them but I thought to myself that's a bit cheesy and on top of that how would I be able to drill a hole through it? I had to find something better and I found it at my hardware store. I took the TAPerformance Choke Thermostat with me, I was going to buy the biggest diameter metal rod that would fit through the eye of the coil (you can see it on the right edge of the picture below).

    I found it, a 4ft - 1/8" piece of steel rod (which I used maybe 6" of).

I bought a 1/16" drill bit and a hitch pin.

I went home and started eyeing the length I'd need and how it would need to be bent. I made sure it wouldn't hit any of the other structures while in full choke mode and no choke mode. This is what I came up with.

I drilled my holes and fitted my home made linkage, unfortunately I made the first bend to short so my drilled hole does go all the way through the thermostat coil eye but that didn't really matter, the thermostat housing that goes over the coil holds the linkage from coming out. Here is the finished product.

I hope this will help others who are in the same predicament I was in. The first carb I placed on top of the TAPerformance manifold was an Edlebrock 750cfm (1411?) with electric choke but you know what, my car never ran well with it, my mechanic and I tried everything (jets, metering rods, springs). Still my car would hesitate from a dead stop and just didn't have that OMFFFF it should have.
All the battles you see on the forums about which carb to use Holly, EdleBrock or QuadraJet well I can from experience say "NOT an Edlebrock". I want to give a shout out to Mark the owner of Quadrajetpower.com who built me a nice Quadrajet and supported me by answering all my questions, I'm sure you know Mark he's a V8Buick member he goes by carmantx. THANKS MARK!

    Hope this helps.

    Nice work.

I use aluminum TIG rod from the welding supply store, much easier to bend than steel.......Cliff
