M&H Power Window Harness Issue

I installed my M&H power window harness over the last couple of days (drivers/crossover and passengers, not rear). Once installed nothing worked. Getting ignition and batt voltage to the relay, nothing on the output side of the relay. I was all set to order a new relay on Ebay and decided to compare the relay connector to my original that I had just removed minutes earlier. I found the ignition (relay control) and output to the window harness to be reversed in my new harness. I switched the two wires and everything worked fine. I was disappointed as these harness' are not cheap. In addition, I've already ordered the $500 Dash harness which is on back order.

Has anyone had issues with M&H products, specifically the Dash harness?

I hemmed and hawed over M&H vs. Lectric Limited and now wondering if I made the right decision.

I haven't informed M&H yet, will do so tomorrow, maybe there's a reasonable explanation (multiple relay configurations?).

For the record, I just glanced at the instructions from M&H, Step 1: "Place the new harness next to the old harness....verify position of each wire in the various connectors"

    I'm still a little upset...with myself and M&H.

    Thanks, Tom

Great company and products. We did two complete 70s and both had power windows. We replaced all harnesses.

I installed a used m&h dash harness in my 67 GS a few months ago. Everything seems to work fine and for the most part has lined up with the factory harness. I wouldn't call it perfect, but no modifications were needed and everything works.

I should be receiving an engine harness today, and will probably have to order a driver power window harness at some point.

I used their engine harness in my '67 and it fits and functions perfectly.

Yup, and as I recall, we ran into exactly the issue described on the Black car... we told M&H about the issue.. I don't recall if we simply knew about it when we did the GSX, and fixed the harness right off the bat, or if they had corrected that one..

I recall spending several hours with the guys going thru the schematics, to figure out why the windows did not work..

I have used a bunch of M&H stuff over the years, no issues at all.

Thanks for the input. I had read reviews on this site regarding the wiring harness' and felt pretty comfortable with M&H. Although disappointed, I should have caught it by doing a comparison with my original - I'll make sure I compare the dash harness once it arrives. Thanks, Tom

As Flynbuick said, we did two dash harnesses with the M&H stuff, no problem at all. Considering all the opportunities to make errors in that business, I was very happy overall with the stuff we got from M&H..

I have used M&H but I prefer American Autowire

I guess I spoke too soon. I was having issues with the ignition shorting out once my console tach was plugged in. I tested the tach and the console harness and they were fine.

I took a good look at the m&h dash harness where it hooks to the console and the wires were pinned wrong into the connector. Swapped everything around and it worked fine.

I guess the moral of the story is to double check all your connectors. M&H say this themselves prior to installing a replacement harness.
