    TILL I BUILT BOOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Jacksonville to look at a that 63 Wildcat I posted on the bench last night, brought my son and took the Turbo. On the way home heading west on Normandy Boulevard out by the Air Base I'm sitting at a red light. A beautiful white STI makes a right to go west towards the base and eyeballs the T as he turns. The Subaru is good looking with its gloss black rims on the white car with the big stainless steel exhaust peeking out the back. The speed limit is 55 but he cruises slow at maybe 35-40 waiting for me to catch up. No one else is on the road, strange considering the air base is just up ahead.

It is a cool beautiful evening as we head towards the sunset and we both have our windows open. I let off the gas to coast up and ease past him. As I pass I hear him downshift but I wait till he spools and begins to pull past me. This gives him a couple of cars lead before I have 25# boost, the tires break and the T is dancing.

My son says "dad, he's watching us in his mirror and thinking this isn't going to end well" as I reel him in and blow past so fast I did not have time to see his face. I could only hear his exhaust screaming louder than mine.

I really though the STI would give me a better race!

I brake and slow to 45 waiting for him to catch up and see if he wants to go again. He brakes, pulls into my lane and just shadows me from about 50 yards back for a mile or so and then turns into the base.

Do you have alcohol injection, or do you always run on race gas?

    Good kill.

My thought exactly. 25 lbs of boost?? I run on the edge on pump gas at like 18 lbs.

AWESOME story, makes hating imports all the more enjoyable. The fact that you actually complimented on its' cosmetic appearance makes it less harsh, though...:Brow:

Alky injection is the only way to go in these cars. :3gears: :Brow:

Good kill!!!! Those things can be pretty quick. I think they're butt ugly but they run pretty well.

Why would an all wheel drive turbo car want to race from a roll?

This would be referred to as a FART can. You know, that sound you heard it making as you passed. :error: :beer

I have a progressive alky spray. I run two #15 nozzles on an alky fuel pump and spray it into the the 3" Aluminum tube just before the Throttle Body. I run on pump gas. The system kicks in at 13# boost with minimum pressue and as the manifold pressure builds so the does the alky fuel pressure so that max pressure comes in at 21# boost. Without it I could only run 16-17# boost. Depending on humidity I run between 21 to 25# boost. If the humidity is high then I can only run 21# boost but yesterday it was dry.

With the Alky spray I've gone 12.14 on pump gas at 114-115 mph with an easy launch 1.85-60' on a very humid night at 22# boost. There are turbo cars running low 10's on pump gas now. They have progressive systems that back out the gasoline and ramp up the alky to the point where the fuel is probably 70%+ alky to do that though.

This car is too fast or too slow. 95% of the cars I line up against are no race whatsoever and the others are way faster than me. I've had not had a close race at the track in two years now. I'm either ten lengths in front or behind. I'm gonna put the plates on the GS and drive it. Its stock and its best is 12.85. Besides I need to hear the V8 rumble for a while.

I did not buy the 63 Wildcat. It is not in good shape. Every lower quarter has to be done. The hood has holes in it. There is rust around every trim piece and all the chrome and pot metal has corrosion, pits and bubbles. It would be a cool car when finished but it would take at least $15K to do it right. Someone put a Continental Kit and spare tire on it.

That sounds like an awesome setup. I wish I had my GN back... isn't that the way it always goes?

I'm late again for the comment! You do know that those fart cans add 100 ft lb's of torque and 150 horse power don't you. That's why every ricer "hot car" has them.
